Jim C would probably know better than me.

AFAIK, the AAP was only on '75s. I have a '75 carb with AAP on my 76 and I don't find that the AAP is necessary or does anything useful, so I don't use it. This is just my personal experience. YMMV.

Backfiring or spitting through the carb (and not the tail pipe) is a classic symptom of lean mixture. It may be more likely an accelerator pump issue than the PV, if it does this while stopped. The PV only opens when the manifold pressure drops really low, like pedal to the metal @ low speed going up hill.

#2 is ported, but the picture is off of SOR, my carb looks identical EXCEPT it doesnt have #2...yet. As for the black/yellow wire, i have to use an inline splitter/connecter because it dissapears into the wire loom. But i do have a short white wire coming off the solenoid that goes to nothing. Maybe a PO thing??
Pjohnson- youre not hijacking, youre asking questions i would probably have to ask in a week, so thanks :D

Your cali spec 1975 carb does not have #2, ported vacuum. IIRC, that's the only 2F that is not equipped with it.

Like Pin says, #4 must be connected to manifold vac.

#3 is a toss up. If you've got headers on a healthy 2F and need the hit of extra fuel, then connect to manifold vac. If it runs OK without vac on #3, then leave it alone.

How about connecting the ICS wire to the ICS connector??

ICS? What does that stand for? Other than that, Perfect! I think this post will get me running, after i get some fittings and source the pedal linkage. Thanks for all the help, i know its gotta be a pain answering questions all the time, but thats what makes you guys the Cruiser Gurus!

Idle Cutoff Solenoid?

short side-question: have you ever rebuilt a fuel-cut-off solenoid ? got tips ? mine appears to intermittently not work on start-up

I got a replacement from Degnol (thanks :bounce:) but if I can rebuild my old one........

'bout the only thing "rebuildable" on them is the teeny tiny O ring.

I guess that if the solenoid coil went out, you could always remove the needle so it is on all the time.

yeah, I have heard "clip it off - that's what all the desert racers do" before

thanks for the reply

now back to your regular scheduled programming........
