I have decided to part out a rig I picked up a few weeks ago. Most everything is there under the hood, except for the exhaust manifold, it has a header. Engine runs, but I need to get more info, compression #s and such. The seats are there, needs new upholstery. Dash is complete, pads switches, heaters. Body is roached.
Wiper assembly looks great, windshield frame looks good, as does the hood.

I will sell the whole rig for $1500, I have the title.

Frame, axles, drivetrain, engine, it is all there. It will most likely need a new rear diff, it has a locker which I am going to keep, unless I am persuaded to sell!

PM me for more info, questions, prices, we can work some deals.

Still have it if anyone needs a solid drivetrain, engine to axle. I may start pulling more parts from the dash in the evenings if there is no interest in the whole rig. Seats and brackets are out, top is off, needs a new gutter all the way around. I am also going to try and run it this weekend to check the engine out better, temps, leaks, compression.......

Hardtop is off, looks like it would make a nice project to work on, the top cap itself looks ok, needs a new gutter all the way around, but the fiberglass cap is pretty good.

Also fired it up and drove it around my yard a few times! Drives like it should!!!! I am going to fold the windshield down, pull the doors and drive it around the backroads this weekend! (With my 5 gallon bucket seat!)

Tranny cover has a whole ton of rivets all the way around it, I haven't got deep enough in it to determine what condition it is in.

Parting out or selling?

Either, or, both, whatever happens first.

Hello there.

Does your '73 have the large reverse light? I need the chrome ring/trim that holds the glass lens.

Thanks.

Not OEM. Some sort of auto parts store ****

Yeah, but I am debating whether or not to keep them, they would be good for a half door project.

@toomanytoyzz If I do sell those doors I would like to sell as a pair. Let me see how things go with parting the rest of the rig.

Thank you for the lesson. I have a similarly rusty '72 that I need to do something with.

And I am reminded here that parting out an old 40 can be a real pain in the ass.

No problem.

Where do you live and how much do you want for the entire rig?

@toomanytoyzz I need to follow up on the red one I saw around my neck of the woods, I bet he is willing to move it off of his lot soon.

Money talks! I already started to conversation with him, I walked at his offer but he didn't seem to reject mine. He said come back in another month and we can talk more.

Toomanytoyzz, the rig lives in North Carolina. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet. So I cannot set a price. I have considered using the drivetrain, brake parts, and whatever else I can to put a '62 FJ40 back on the road which currently has an old chevy straight six in it and SM420 (I think). But that hasn't happened yet.

I only posted here because the "process" of parting-out an old rust bucket is instructional, for me at least.

Sorry rkymtnflyfisher. Hijack over.
