Too far north. Too far east.
I have a windshield wiper motor that I'm attempting to wire up to a newer steering column. There are four wires. The wire diagram in my 1969-1971 FSM is not helping. Anybody know how the wires get hooked up? The wires are: L, LB, LW, LR. I've played with a power supply and can spin the motor, but I can't figure out the low speed, high speed, and park function combinations.

The wiring diagram for the newer column is crystal clear. The older manual doesn't have the same detail.

The dash wiper switch has a wire that is hot when in the off position. It's either the LW or LB wire, I forget which, but it is easy to figure out with a tester.

EXACTLY. L + LB is park! I saw those two wires under the black cover and figured they must be on the park switch. Know I know how it works. I have since found out that the L wire appears to be ground, which would make since. That means the LR and LW are high and low, though probably not in that order.

Thanks. One step closer.

Not exactly.
L=Blue goes to the fuse
Ground comes from the wiper switch
Here you go , I found this diagram.
