For Sale 1969 FJ55 - part out or sell whole?

Bought this last year, keep meaning to part it out, then every time I start to place an ad, I see the pics and think it could be a decent runner. Bought it from a guy way out in the boonies on the western slope of Colorado. He had it since 92, talked about driving it with his dad, but he is older than me! Plate and title says it is a '69. Says it drove great until he parked it 2 years ago, I have not tried anything with the motor. The interior is...unique. Very custom. It is actually in pretty solid shape. Let me know if anyone would be interested in it for what I have in it (about $2k) or I will part it out. Thanks!!

Hmm...just noticed the sticker on the engine...I may try and rebuild that for my 1964 FJ40 that has a GM straight 6...a doppleganger for an early F.

I would love to get that 4 wheel drive on the back tailgate. How is the rubber and lenses on that front grill? Those pockets on the door are pretty cool too.

If it wouldn't cost more than the purchase price to get it here, I'd be all over this - in way better condition than the first 40 I rebuilt... PM me at the last minute if you decide to part, guilt about letting it be chopped up may overcome my fear of my wife saying "you did what? (again)"

Shipping sucks! Tried uship and the company endorsed on a few threads on mud. Uship was way cheaper, but still stupid expensive.

Agreed - uship is pretty good in country, but not too many will cross the border and while I could get down to Montana in a few hours, coordinating a pick up and paperwork could be a nightmare. Still, those rockers and fenders look better than most anything (pre-resto) that I can get in Canada.

I did not make a post for it in the other 55 section, but did mention it in my parts post.

Only on MUD...want it to stay in the family, if possible.

I do have a clean title.

If shipping wasn't so crazy, it would be in Canada right now!

In no hurry, still wondering about the engine, especially for my 40. Will tinker more this weekend...

Still available. Calgary40 would like it, but shipping to Canada (or anywhere) is a pain, and his garage is still full! If it doesn't sell relatively soon then I am sure it will go to him. So if you are interested, hurry! I also have a 69 parts rig with the early steering wheel and early aprons with the holes for the side turn signals.

I have a re-engining project in mind that I've been contemplating for awhile. If you want to keep the engine, I might still be interested.
Just have to get it to Memphis. Maybe I (or someone) could drag it back from the pig gathering. (Don't yet know if I'm gonna make it.)
