How much did that stuff run for the roll?

I used the reflectix and the JC Whitney sound/heat deadener on the floor of my FJ62,2 layers of stuff then carpet, no issues and made a heck of a difference in heating/cooling and sound! If the doors were only that quiet it'd be awesome.. Reflectix is avail at Ace hardware and home depot in the ductwork section, not much at all.
I worried a touch about it popping but have also used it in my fJ40 when I used to drive it on long roadtrips. Glued it to a rubber mat to remove when needed, kept that header heat off my birks..

Not any major leaps and bounds this evening, but still moving forward.....I got Travis beating down the door to my paint booth so he wanted me out tonight so he could get in tomorrow.

Got home and cut and custom fit the refletix stuff into the roof. Pretty much fits in between the x-members and tucks down in along the roof about a 1/4". I think it will work well.

Then out of the booth and onto the lift......I don't think I ever have to put that body back on the rottisseri again, that makes me happy :D Pretty much wirewheeled down the area where the mount was on the firewall and shot a couple coats of epoxy primer. Probably will be on the lift for a few days before I get that firewall into paint. I want to get everything smoothed out and looking nice before I base/clear it.

I also occasionally am sneaking in a little BJ40 time at my place so that's eating up a bit of my time. ;)

Why do you beat the living snot out of all your cans? It seems every pic you post of some product is dented in some manner. Do you need a break? Maybe a better vent in the paint booth? I know I lose soem motor skills sniffin' paint fumes :D

No wiat...I got it, Poser was up there. Did you leve Steve unattended in your shop?

That explains it perfectly......;)

Not a ton done on the lv tonight, I got this guy dragging me down with this BJ project ;)

1 pic of my lv progress tonight, about an hour and a half of a little glazing compound, sanding and primer. I've got the firewall looking pretty decent, I think another day or 2 and I should be spraying paint.

5 other pics of Travis tonight, had to give him a few pointers on how to run the spray gun and give him hand tonight. I'm sure he will have more pics of his day progress, I only come around at night after my day shift then he puts me to work :D

His stuff turned out pretty good I think, not bad for his first time.

The frame looks great, as does all of your work

Well, another night, few hours on the lv. Didn't get hung up to much with the BJ project, Travis has mastered painting rather well for being so new to it :) by the time I got home after work this evening he was finishing up his axles and other misc. parts this evening.

I then allowed Travis the privelage of helping me sand down the firewall with 180 :D Took our time and got it pretty decent. I back taped the SEM stuff and sprayed a couple coats of epoxy primer on the top. I have to work tomorrow night, so I think in the morning I'm going to see if I can get some base/clear on the firewall.

Hoping to get it back on the chassis Saturday night.

Once your body is finished, its all down hill... That body looks and is better than factory condition IMHO.

Matt this this is looking awsome. I know it has been said many, many times but I dont think it can be said enough. Simpy amazing. I need you to move out to Colorado, and bring your shop with you. So that I can restore the piggie I just bought.
I love this thread. I think I have issues. I proboly check it 5-6 times a day. It is the only reason I venture into the 45 section. :o

Not a lot of time to type, just got to work.

Got up this morning, shot 2 colors of base and then the clear.

Should be putting the body back on Sat. night. :)
