Weatherstripping help!!!

I hate to ask a terribly basic question, but what are you planning on doing for door weatherstripping, I am having a heck of a time finding something that will work. I have to find this weatherstripping and the outside wiper runner along the outside of the crank down windows and am really struggling...

My '67 LV Wagon Resto is complete with the exception of these elusive rubber parts...HELP, someone HELP...I'm losing drive.

I have a JC witney part number that will work for the doors but I am holding it hostage. We need pics of your 67 :D You are welcome to email a pic or pics to treeroot@root45.com. The wiper for the roll down windows I haven't located yet but I am working on it. An actual repro of the stock weatherstripping is in the works.

I could wait until the email but that would be mean. I am serious though, the only thing that keeps me from buying more 45s is searching for pics instead. The part number is...

quote from isalwaysright, "i just received 2 pn# SJ132562B I'd ordered from j.c. whitney for the door weatherstrip - "sponge rubber bulb with vinyl trim, half bulb (trucks)" - comes in 25 ft lengths - looks real close to the real thing. i dont have em installed yet but i'll do one tomorrow and let you know how they fit."

only problem is he never got back to us. Gene aka LCJ Land Cruiser Junky was going to buy the weatherstrip from JC Whitney but I believe Marv is going to offer it so I think Gene was going to wait and see what Marv comes up with.

that roof stuff would've annoyed the living piss out of you. In my old 45 you could hear all that s*** blowing around in that channel driving down the street.

Crap now i know what that noise is.It's great to see all the hidden corners and blind spots that i hope to never repair. Thanks for all the details most of us will never see.Did i miss the bear claws,or will they go in the doors at the end.Rob

Got to put in another 3 hours tonight on the LV. I actually have a few more pics before I started welding new parts in, but I didn't have the lower res on my camera on until about half way through. I probably will post them tomorrow, but they will be out of sequence. My home computer is so old I don't have the capability to resize to jpeg

Anyway, cut out basiclly 3 pieces on the rear upper left sill, directly above the rear left window. I had to drill out a bunch of spot welds on the upper portion of the window. The long piece that I had to bend up had a larger radius than my brake will do. My brake will bend at a very sharp angle, the radius on the inner portion of the vehicle was about a 1/4" radius over 90 degrees. I used a piece of 1/8" angle iron 48" long and ground the outside edge down to about a 1/4" radius. When I bent that angle I used the piece of angle iron I made and put it in the brake. It made the bend, but made it at a larger radius, which I wanted. That way it lined up with the radius that I was butt welding too. I think I explained that and the pics show it?? I guess I'm real happy how it turned out. When primed it will look like nothing ever happened and no more swiss cheese metal. :)

Clamped and welded everything back in. I would have done a little more grinding on my welds, but ran out of flap disc's. So not totally done with that side, but will be tomorrow night for sure. Probably do the same spot on the other side tomorrow night since I kinda know what what to do. After that, start moving towards the front, same program.

No you didn't miss the bear claw door latches. Just haven't put them in yet. I'm going to continue on with the more body work, roof, tailgate and a few other minor things. Then I will be installing them.

Could you please post a photo of that one piece of the original sheet metal. You know, the one around the ashtray?................. :D

A completely hand built body, amazing. Simply amazing.

Got another 3 hours in on the LV tonight. Finished grinding and cleaning up the rear left side above the rear window. Got the right side done also :) Since I had made the tooling to make that part it actually went really quick. Both sides turned out extremely well and I'm very happy with them. Straight and no more holes :D

Should be a pic of that piece of angle iron I had to grind down in the brake making the right side part to get that larger radius. Worked good.

The next area I tackled was above the left rear door. You will notice that I had to do both sides of the sill above that door. I only cut one side out at a time so that the door jam was connected at all times. I was a little afraid that if I cut both sides I might not get the door exactly the same again so I opted to do each side seperately. Happy with that.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get above both front doors done tomorrow.

have you decided on a color yet?

No, wife hasn't told me yet :D

I've still got a long way to go before I'm ready for paint. But, I'm going to be spraying some paint in that upper drip rail for more rust protection. That's why I started that other thread on paint codes for the white.

As soon as she tells me what color I'm painting it, I'll post it ;)
