16x8 steel wheels for 80 series?

The OEM steel wheel, 42601-60361, is 16x8 with 4.5 inches of backspace and zero offset(exacly the same as the alloy wheel). They weigh ~43 lbs a copy(over twice what the alloy weighs) and are easy to balance and difficult to damage.

I got five of these from Cruiserdan and I've been very pleased with them. Lucky for me - I'm local, so I just picked them up from his shop.

They are very sturdy wheels. I also like having some extra weight at each corner to help lower the center of gravity (every little bit helps), since my '93 is lifted about 5 inches.

I run 315/75-R16 Wrangler MTRs on them. The tire takes most of the sidewall abuse before the rocks get to the rim, since the tires are roughly 12.5 inches wide on an 8 inch rim.

I was able to pick up a set of FJ Cruiser stock steelies 16x7 and I love them.

I would be interested to know more about the donor vehicle.

The only steel FJC wheel listed in the catalog is 17x7.5.

They are not off of an FJC, they are the steelies from a late model 4Runner. 16x7 w/ 4" BS (I think)

Otherwise, you are correct as always!
