Marsh Racing Wheels are nice for less than $100 per wheel. I think that they will do whatever backspacing you request. There are also cheap black wheels on Summits website last time I checked but I dont think that you can custom order your backspacing.

I ordered some steelies from Mr Toy.
And I must admit they are of a pretty stout fabrication indeed.

Comparing them to my other steelies from bullface I'd hasten to state that the aformentioned Mr Toy steelies easily weigh in more pounds on the scale.
And they do finish them in a nice grey metalic paint.
As not to stand out in the crowd of aluminium fabricated wheels.

Watching a mid 18-th century English drama on TV

You can get an unpainted steel spoke wheel from Summit for approx $60. PM me if you're interested and I'll go find the part #.

The OEM steel wheel, 42601-60361, is 16x8 with 4.5 inches of backspace and zero offset(exacly the same as the alloy wheel). They weigh ~43 lbs a copy(over twice what the alloy weighs) and are easy to balance and difficult to damage.

Here are some 70 series wheels courtesy of CruiserDan...I ordered these for my 80, but it's been at LC Engineering (They are using my supercharger to get ready to start production of them) since they arrived, so I put them on my HJ45. There not black, but thats easy.

And the part number...(Forgive me, I'm not trying to pad my posts, I'm new to my Mac and don't know how to work it very well).

What is the benefit to steelies over stock? I see people asking abou them a lot, don't know if it is just personal preference or performance driven?

Good looking wheels. What are the dimensions on the 70 series wheels, and what did they cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks,
Doug

16x7's. I bought 7 of them back in october. I honestly don't remember what the price was, but Cdan got them for me.

I prefer steelies for my offroaders cause I'm oldfashioned.

If needed I can mount a tyre myself without damaging the wheel.
And when they eventually get all dirty and rusty.
Simple take the tire off and have them sandblasted and recoated.

I thought those wheels were like 16x6 or something...? Any idea what the backspacing is on them?

I might have to get rid of the Uniques I just bought and try to nail down a set of these. I really like the looks of 'em!

I think I'll be using 16x8s for 36x12.50s.

Primary advantage to steel rims is they are cheap when you are trying to run a dedicated set of trail tires.

They don't chip when you rub the bead with rocks.

They rust inside which is bad, but they can be sanded and cleaned as noted above.

Can someone tell me the backset of the stock 80 alloy?

Thanks.

Ok...ASHOOTER was right. These are 16x6, so I guess they don't fit your bill.

Shooter was this the picture you were talking about?
