Good work;) I hope you can do a write up of all the the things you had to do. There has been 2-3 interested in this swap but there isnt a lot in the forum when you use the search function

I have seen and ridden in it. It is amazing. Spallet had done everything possible to get every ounce of HP/torque out of the 3B. He turbo'd and intercooled it. The 14BT takes it to the next level. You can feel the power.

According to Spallet, it was a drop in, no moving of the motor mounts and it mated to the H55. He said he fan into a couple of small items that had to be tackled, one being the vacuum pump. But I'll let him talk about them in detail.

As far as I know, no one else has done a 14BT conversion in the States. Chime in if you or someone you know has done it.

We had one guy on here from Bolivia who had done it seems to be very popular in Malaysia I guess they have plentiful supply of Dyna truck engines up there

I have 13B-T in my LJ70 (had it 4 2 years) - AWESOME ! Mine is now 13B-T - 14B-T Fuel Pump - 7M Turbo all totally rebuilt from ground up

WHen it is finished with the intercooler connected I will post pictures of it.

My mate has a 14B-T and that is DOUBLE AWESOME so much grunt. HE has had his engine in for over 5 years. Its now up for a rebuild as its smoking and losing power.

I have a 13B-T in my 1987 TROOPY also - that is also very good. Even better when the lockers get installed next month front and rear.

Since this engine mates to a H55, it should mate up to the A440 behind the 3FE right? What horsepower/torque numbers are you looking at and most importantly at what RPM's?

They still need the same input shaft. I think the 14B is 14 spline? and the F is 10 spline

TLC FAQ - 5.4 Engine Specifications

Not much more than a 3B and the same as a 3B-II ,but note the big jump in HP a 14BT has a over a 13BT.
If that could be replicated (or close to it) with an aftermarket turbo on the 14B it would certainly have the cool factor in my books:cool:

The bigger capacity 14B and 15B reputably have extra reinforcing in the block

In answer to your A440 to 3FE it should fit you may have to change bell housings (since I am not familair with 3FE's someone else can update you) however we went straight from a A440 to a H55 on the 13B-T LJ70 June last year and I would never go back to the A440. The H55 gave the truck so much more useable grunt (especially for towing sick LJ70s out of the jungle for 70+Ks) and the A440 had Rodneys A440 towing kit upgrade in it. It also made the winch work a lot better also.

How about give me a tip on which page. As much as I love cruisers, I don't want to sift through 384 pictures to find the 70.

I got to first hand view this rig at the Texas Round Up https://forum.ih8mud.com/trails-events-expeditions/274798-official-roundup-2009-photo-thread.html you can see pics of it, white BJ70
and it was super cool. Even without a intercooler he claimed it had gobs more torque.

Only thing he had to deal with was the vacume pump as it had to be removed to clearance of the frame.

Off topic here, but I had no idea your company existed, and I spent nearly 10 days working in Duncan back in January. Had I known I would have checked you guys out..... bummer.

It was good to finally meet you Rob.

Great meeting you also Dave, small world you being friends with Lee Armstrong and Cruiser Crap guy Mark?

That 14BT was inspiring, looked so good under the hood.

Wow ! Electric fan and a breather tube that doesnt foul up the intake plumbing. As long as it doesnt get below 20f you dont really need your element heater in your intake plenum. Wow again! a 14B-T has 20+ more HP @stock settings and something like 40ft/lbs of torque. Same bore as the 13B-T and a slightly longer stroke to make up the 200cc

Thanks for Showing Spallet:)
