Bringing this tread back for info.

I have been riding along with my drawers for almost a year and just now went to build the side wings thing is I went and ordered the wrong hinges! :bang:

I looked back and want to get the same kind as the ones in your build (post #76), they sit nice and flush and of course have the correct opening/closing angle! (I got 110 degrees full overlay)

Could you steer me in the right direction? Thanks

This is by far the best looking cargo system I've ever seen. Anybody bought one of these from Trekboxx?

Thanks! I used a full gallon, none left over. I could have used a bit more. The finishing was way more $$$ than I had hoped, but it came out great. I'm really glad I didn't use carpet. I was told I could also use an oil based poly, but I actually wanted to test chassis saver anyways.

I add my kudos to you on a project well done! You've got a number of great ideas worth borrowing when I get around to doing some woodworking for my JKUR.

Some questions if you don't mind:

1. Why did you paint the wood (silver) before applying the Monstaliner?
2. The yellow tabs on the drawer slides - are they a locking release that needs to be depressed to allow the drawer to slide out?
3. Electrical (my weakness) - Did you run a heavy duty cable to the back to supply juice to your inverter and other accessories? Anything more you can share about the basic layout of the electrical? (Not sure I can read a schematic if you post it but I'll try if you do).

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Dan,
Sorry for the delay. I haven't been on MUD in a while. To answer your Q's:

1. The wood needs a "primer" coat. Per Monstaliner it should be a urethane or their chassis saver. I used the much more expensive chassis saver for 2 reasons. I wasn't planning to put the Monstaliner on all surfaces (such as under the drawers), and it is a very bad idea to coat only one side of a panel. It will warp badly. Also, I wanted to try the chassis saver for some other projects.
2. Yup. The slides lock in, out, and half way out.
3. Yes, I ran a set of #4 cables from the aux battery to a Blue Sea fuse box in the rear cubby. Disclaimer: I am not an electrician! I totally hacked my way through this and other jobs with some help from friends. That said, I will put up a schematic I made for myself. It's not a proper schematic, just a sketch to remind myself how I was going to move forward. Use it at your own risk!

edit - I keep getting an error trying to upload the file. Shoot me an email and I'll send it to you. info@trekboxx.com
