Finally...
Turns out Greggs Distributors in nanaimo is a pretty useful shop. Walked in and they said , " you need our hose guy" he poked around and found some 10mm braze on fittings .
Guess we'll see how brazed fittings last, but they look good. He wasn't concerned, and he knows a fair bit more about this s*** than I do, so I'll trust him for now
.
Only reason it took a couple extra days was they just got a new machine, and they didn't get the "crimp specs" with it, so they had to contact the company to get them sent over.
We have their catalogues at work, many many inches thick, probably not much they can't get.
This after walking into a hydraulic shop with it and getting " I hope that's not for that thing" (nods towards cruiser) as I walk in the door.
"we don't have metric, we can't flare we can't we can't we can't even open a book and pretend to be helpful" Stopped counting after 5 excuses.
Meanwhile my face probably had " how the **** can you not flare??" flashing across it.
I flared a ps line with a ballpeen hammer once and it didn't leak, the **** is wrong with you guys that are claiming to be a hydraulic shop???
Useless as tits on a donkey.
Anyways, the greggs guy was interested and spent some time looking for a solution, at other shop it was just excuses. So, ****em.
Bit of a wrestle to install.
This ends up pretty close. I think a shorter alternator belt will be all that's really needed to give it more clearance. Tho I could see changing to a BJ style ps pump with the attached reservoir if something in this system s***s the bed. It'd be a lot more convenient for plumbing with everything on the same side of the lump.
Ran the lines in some old firehose and strapped them down away for all the spinny bits.
Then this happened.
Started with the key, and even better, it shut off with the key.
Still need to extend the fuel gauge wires, fine tune the throttle linkage and verify the tcase is shifting and figure out which is it's indicator light.
Then it's bugs in the teeth test drive time.
