100's with aftermarket wheels? (1 Viewer)

Did you ever run those wheels without a lift? The AHC on my 06’ LX is still running strong, been wanting to drop down to 17” wheels for a while, tire size has been the big question though.
No… got the wheels afterwards

I considered a lot of wheels. I wanted the LX to retain the 18s, wanted to have a center cap to cover the hub flange, I also wanted a 9” wide wheel and wanted to remove my 1.25” wheel spacers. Lastly I wanted a wheel that is not sticking out of the body (like 0 or negative offset), then I found my ideal wheel spec that checks all the boxes.

Top: LX OEM - no wheel spacers.
Middle: Tundra OEM - with 1.25” wheel spacer
Bottom: Alpha Equipt Echo 18x9 offset +25 no wheel spacer.

So are wheel spacers only for aesthetics?
It's something I never thought about but when I see a 100 with a nice stance, its normally one with spacers.

Yes and no.
Yes - if the tires you put on doesn’t interfere with the upper control arm then that’s typically for aesthetics but it looks good.
No - if the tires you put (typically 295s and wider) rubs the upper control arm then you have to either get new set of wheels with deeper offset to push it away from the UCA (towards the zero offset spec) or, put on wheel spacers.

Edited.

Black Rhino Armory 18" 0 offset. They have taken a beating handily, two trips to Moab! Might buy them again, and powdercoat them white except for hardware (new 100 is white Pearl)

Anyone running a full size spare in the stock location with aftermarket wheels? If so, any issues or concerns about damaging the wheel?

I'm successfully running Forged TRD 17"s with a matching spare.
