Beefy

Hey yall, just wondering if anyone has a rear steel 100 series bumper without any kind of swingouts on it? My wifes 100 series at one point had a steel bumper, and the PO kinda just jerry rigged the oem bumper back on it, and she suggested that we look into getting a steel bumper. Ive got some questions...

How are people color matching the paint to their vehicles? Or just go with black powder coat?

She doesnt really like the look of the spare tire carrier and jerry cans, does anyone make any without swingouts?

We are looking at the Dissent Offroad bumper now, its $1,400 for the base, and i guess you could just leave the holes for the swing out stuff and add it later or something. Does anyone else make one that is just a bumper? No fancy stuff?

Dissent Will definitely ship you the bumper only. It is a very easy install. Everything is already there to be able to add the swing hours later, and very easily.

I would definitely order the version of his rear bumper that does not require you to cut the rear crossmember.

Yeah were looking for something pretty easy. The 100 series is my wifes daily driver. It gets driven 6 miles a day, and thats about its entire life

There is one for sale in GA that you could grab and sell the other stuff off of it.

Got a link?

Ah yeah that definitely didnt show up, might be because it was posted in February. That ones got all the extra stuff on it and he wants over a grand more than it is new from dissent without the swing outs

Oh that’s not bad at all. I wonder how bad diy welding is. It’s half the price.

Any of you guys ever paint steel bumpers to match the truck? We have the green Micah or something on our 100. Wonder if powder coat could get close

Not hard if you know how to weld. I welded mine and a buddies (with swingouts). The basic kit is a lot quicker obviously.

The Dissent might look funny if you keep the spare underneath...it is ultra high clearance.

Slee used to offer bumper without swing outs...description still makes it sound like it can be had without them, but no buying option for it on their site.

Color Match: 3 options

1. Duplicolor Color Match in rattle cans
1.a: color matched rattle cans from a custom paint supplier: 2002 Toyota Landcruiser Touch Up Paint - for Landcruiser Paint Repairs - PaintScratch.com

2. Ask @wngrog ‘s powder coater to color match it in powder coat

3. professional paint

This is the Slee that was on my truck when I bought it. I don't think Slee sells a non-swing out version anymore. This one is now black, but otherwise, it's the same as in the photo.

I actually want a bumper with swing outs and have considered selling this one. Not sure if this is the best time or not, but if you like this one and we could come up with something that works for both of us, I might be game........

I can weld somewhat well. I did the armor on my 4Runner. It’s not pretty though haha.

I think the duplicolor night be the most cost effective route but the weakest. Professional paint would be the best looking and powder the strongest. Thanks for the tips. I’ll call around. There’s a guy in Memphis who does paint for somewhat reasonable prices if it’s
