How sacrilegious would it be to go for an electric motor on my '67 FJ45LV?
I am planning to fully restore my LV next year ( want to make it a daily driver, not a crawler) and I've been following @ElectricGT development of an electric "crate engine" for the FJ40.
Any opinions on this? Will...
When I purchased my 1973 FJ40 in Vancouver, Canada. The seller included this cover. I've never unrolled it, but the seller said it's shaped specifically for the FJ40. It's super heavy duty and super HEAVY. Looks like military grade.
Previous owner said to keep it because it's very valuable. I...
I've been tirelessly and unsuccessfully looking for a Tire holder spindle assembly for my 1966 FJ45LV
I've almost given up on finding an original one, so here's my question:
Would anyone be willing to lend me their tire holder assembly for a few days so I can have someone replicate it? I could...
Hey guys! I am ready to get new suspension for my 1967 LV and I am wondering if the "ARB - OME - FJ45 Lift Kit - 2" Light Load w/ Shackle and Pins" that they sell at CruiserCorps would be a good fit and if I should go with "Light Load" or "Heavy Load" for an LV that will be used mostly for...

I've been looking around a trying to get an answer on what color the rims on a 1967 FJ45lv should be. From what I've read it's either gray, black or the color of the vehicle, but I'm not sure which applies to my 67' LV
If black or gray, could someone share a color code?
Thank you!
What are people doing nowadays for weatherstrips/seals on the LVs?
I'm about to restore a 67' FJ45LV and I can't seem to figure out weatherstripping.
I've only been able to source the little triangle front window seals and taillight seals from slocruisers.com.
I need:
Windshield
Side windows...
I know it's a long shot, but doesn't hurt to ask.
I'm restoring a 1967 FJ45 LV and I am looking for the rear bumper and brackets.
Please let me know if you have any of these items and what you'd like for them.
Thank you!
I have a crack on my windshield and I want to replace it.
I wen tto a auto glass business (Glass Doctor) in Gibsons and they quoted me $400 to remove the windshield, cut a brand new one based on that shape and install it. ($200 labour (4 hours aprox.) and $180 for the glass + tax)
Does $400 seem...
I'm planning on restoring a rusty 67' FJ45LV and I'm wondering how difficult it is to find parts or if anyone has had experience restoring one and if they can tell me what parts are the hardest to find what parts are impossible to find and some do's and don'ts
I'd appreciate any stories, input...
Hi!
My FJ40 has a oil leak and I am told by my mechanic that my 73' FJ40 needs a rear main seal and that the transmission needs to come off.
My question is:
What are some non-expensive things I can do during this process? As in what gaskets, seals, etc, would be good to replace or what are...
Hi!
I found out I had a rear tire rack in storage for my FJ40 and I decided to get it restored and painted. I should be getting it back from the painting shop in a couple of days but I was told by the previous owner that the rack would not fit without modification. Something to do with the...
I've been driving my fj40 for 6 months across the USA and Mexico and now I wanna drive across Canada.
I am contemplating getting a small trailer that has a bed and maybe a small kitchenette . Something like a Boler or any 13 +/- foot RV
What I'm wondering is, has anyone used their fj40 to tow...
We're driving from Mexico to Canada (Currently in California) and in the last couple of days we've had problems with the 1973 fj40 losing power and bucking , Especially when going uphill. If I dont ease off the gas the car will rock back and forth violently and slow down, this is happening on...
Hey!
I'm getting my '73 FJ40 painted and I'm thinking of getting Tintable Raptor liner on the floor of the truck. I'm looking on Amazon and there are 2,4,6,8 liter kits and I have no idea how much it would take to cover the floor from the front to the back on the ol' 40.
Anyone has experience...
