Hello fellow Mudders. I've been on Mud a few years and currently have an FZJ80. My neighbor has a '79 FJ40 that's been parked in their yard for ages and they're finally ready to sell it. The motor turns, all the glass is complete, but as you can see from the pics it needs a complete...
Found a low mileage 2001 LX470 in Brooklyn, NY. I looked at the truck and took it for a test drive. I didn't look it over fanatically, but it looked clean and drove well.
97,000 miles
Exterior looks good - paint is nice and clear coat all there.
Interior is to be expected for it's age -...
When I first got bit by the Land Cruiser bug, I was hot for a 60 series. I've always loved the rugged, classic look of those trucks. Ultimately, I realized that an 80 was the truck for me and couldn't be happier with mine, until I drove a 100...
Today, I drove a 2001 LX470 that a friend of a...
Broke a front ABS speed sensor doing my Birfs. The question is can I just replace the one? I found some used and would only replace the one if I don't need to replace the pair. Thanks.
I'm running OME stock height springs with Tokico shocks and about to pull the trigger on an ARB Deluxe and a 12k winch. Is anyone running this setup or something similar? I want to be sure the suspension can handle the extra weight up front. And if you are running this sort of setup, can you...
I know this is probably a well-worn topic, but I'm ready to do mine and would like to order a front axle service kit asap and am looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance.
I popped under the truck today to investigate a rattle and saw this. How bad / serious does it look?greasy birf by jet200 posted Mar 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM
I bought this tan rear speaker grill from a fellow Mud member for my LC, but it appears the LX's use a different grill it won't fit my rig. It's in great shape. $25 + $8 USPS CONUS shipping.
I was a long-time lurker on Mud while considering either an 80 or 100 series. After a lot of reading up, I decided an FZJ80 was what I wanted as a DD. In November, I found a super-clean, low-mileage, well-maintained, rust-free, 1997 Collectors Edition and to say I'm obsessed would be an...
I finally replaced the craptacular shocks the PO installed with some sweet Tokico's (thanks @beno). Not only is the truck riding better than ever, it seems taller. When we put on the new shocks we noticed that the springs were OME, but since applying winter weatherproofing, I can't tell if...
Upgraded the tires on my FZJ80 this week so I have (4) Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S Tires 275/70R16. The tires have a little over 2,000 miles on them but have 9/10+ tread wear. Very quiet ride and nice for an OEM setup.
$400. Local pickup only.
A local shop that predominately sells used BMW's has a very clean, low miles FJ80 for sale. I took a quick look at it and it's very nice. I'd be happy to take a closer look any Mudders that are interested. The guys that run the shop seem decent - my buddy's been chatting them up about 2002's...
Just bought an FZJ80 so we're selling our 2013 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD Off Road 4x4, 5ft short bed
(TRD Off Road only available in short bed). 2nd Owner, bought Certified from Toyota.
44,500 highway miles
Clean title. Excellent condition. Paint shines like new.

I recently picked up a '97 FZJ80 that's pretty much bone stock. The PO installed Gabriel Ultra truck shocks and struts. Meh. I'd like to replace them with something more capable as well as a set of 285 BFG AT's. The truck is now my DD. I commute a few hundred miles a week with it, a lot of...
I just picked up a 1997 FZJ80 and couldn't be happier. Even the wife loves it! Bone stock, 130,000 miles. Originally a Florida car so it's rust free. Interior is very good and everything seems in working order. Thanks @hamishpotter for guiding me to Mud and for all the incredibly helpful...
Hello IHM community! First off, I want to thank everyone who's contributed so much incredibly helpful knowledge and information to this site. I've been lurking for some time and have found IHM to be one of, if not the best, online communities out there.
I've been considering an FZJ80 for a...
