Holding up very well. Never once have had a problem & I wheel a lot & use the winch a lot.

... you likely have to move or swap out the remote plug because of the depth of that og plug.

That's what I ended up doing. The modern 5-wire Warn plug is much shallower inside the cover.

Ok, done with mine. Next!😎

Since I was able to put the DC88P-1000 Albright contactor under the Warn plastic cover and reuse my stock Warn cables...also thanks to @woodsman 44 , @1911 as well as many others, the wiring was very straightforward.

Have not tried any real pulls yet, but it does go in/out. From what I gather, if You have the stock 8274 motor like I do, the green wire from the remote goes to the LEFT pin & black to the RIGHT pin. It works. If you don’t have the stock motor these are reversed.

The white wire from the remote has a round connection on it and goes to the RIGHT front lug of the Albright contactor. Same lug as the positive HOT from the battery. I put red tape on this white wire to indicate HOT.

Pics as promised and good luck with yours. And thanks for everyone’s help.

Thanks so much for this I wanted to do a warn hub upgrade and it was recommended to do the Albright.

warn recommended I get both of these

new contactor
P/N 102339

and new remote

P/N 83665

but this way I can get an Albright DC88P-1000
HUB WIRELESS RECEIVER FOR WARN TRUCK WINCHES Part Number: 103945

and continue to use my own remote and possibly old cables

this saves me $$$$$ thankyou again so much for sharing this vital information.

revamping my 1975 model 8274 now, I’m having to buy a new plastic box/cover and a plug. I guess the 3-wire 4 pin plug will work, but what warn remote do I buy that’ll pair to that ? I see several out there, none I’m seeing are giving me specs but several have a D shaped plug that won’t fit in a round hole.

i plan to keep the round hole and my old remote

i think it can be wired in to keep your old box and remote but if you want to convert to D plug then part numbers are listed above.

I see the controller part number 83665 for the remote. Do you have the socket part number the remote plugs into ? My factory 3-wire/4-pin socket is rust.

Bumping this thread because it's an awesome guide for wiring up an albright (or superwinch) contactor. Used the references and images here to wire my 8274 up the past two nights. Mounted my contactor inside the engine bay on the DS outer fender and used a 12voltguy in-cab control kit to make the angry pixies run around.

For reference, I used this contactor:
Superwinch Replacement Solenoids 90-14452

Thanks especially to @hj 60 for the diagram in post #24. Accurate and easy reference.

Contactor terminals were sprayed with anti-corrosion spray after these shots.

I really like this in cabin winch controls. Did you make this and if not where to buy?

I still haven’t pulled the plug on this. But it looks like I can buy the power sports version of this Bluetooth controller and keep my 3 wire remote on my 8274 however I still need to get a Albright contractor.

I’m looking at a DC88P-1000
But I’m seeing more and more knockoffs out there especially on Amazon

Warn part# 103950 looks the same as the other wireless hub minus the connector end.

Yup, 12voltguy. Can't find his business website. Too bad, pretty slick products.

That being said, you can buy all the components and make the panels yourselves with not too much effort. I bought a couple of buttons as spares and keep them in my center console. Only issue I have is that I pop-riveted the panels in place so field repairing would be challenging, lol.
