@Drake2 Excellent descriptions and photos for realigning. Thanks!! I will borrow these same techniques as I’m in the same stages of tub repair also.

You are so welcome. It is very satisfying to know that the info will be helpful to you, and hopefully others to come. I have learned so much from the daily forum binging that it feels good to be able to give back!

Bit more progress here with bracing to hold the outer hardtop mating surfaces in place when removing all the supports.

Small update separate from the body work. Body work is getting done at a different location which leaves me with the frame to work on in the evenings. Almost stripped of all the bolt on stuff. Have to grind off the rivets to remove the steering box yet. Although it will have to be titled as a 77 which is what the frame is I would like to keep as much 67 features where possible (turn signals, rear frame channel, etc.) I kept the rear frame channel from the 67 frame before it got recycled becuase it is in almost new condition. The 77 frame rear lower triangles (above the spring hangers) are rotted so I have replacements for those. That would be the best time to replace the rear frame channel to the 67 one as well.

Most of these bolt heads snapped so they had to be removed and retapped

We decided to investigate the bulge on the inside face of the rear wheel wells. Ouch......more rust trying to hide between the wheel well supports and the body tub.

Made a run with pops who is the dedicated cruiser run co-pilot, down to @Voodoocruisers on Sunday with a trailer and bed of parts for swapping. Came back with a nice MetalTech rollcage for the Forsaken 40 build. I am always amazed at the quality of the work in the @Voodoocruisers shop. The work is top notch and the engines/engine bays look like showroom new. Anderson is great to work with and a great guy in general. I'm looking forward to more meet ups in the future.

It was really nice out the other night so I went out to the cruiser barn at midnight for some late night busted bolt therapy.

And here is the rust that was trying to hide between the driver side wheel well support and the tub. It was discovered nonetheless.

There is some very high quality metalwork taking place here, this thing is gonna be NICE!
I'm a bit concerned it's gonna be too nice 🤔 😀. The 1st scratches off road will be painful.

Therein lies the catch 22 of immaculate restos... You've poured blood, sweat, soul and buckets of money into them until they're beautiful and perfect. Then you're afraid to use them knowing that damage of some sort is inevitable. It'll still be totally worth it!
