Oh nice ok thank you, How long does it typically last? And is there a certain type or brand to get?

How long it lasts depends on usage and climate. I'm in the northeast and will probably put 6,000 miles on it over the course of the winter. The truck is completely rust free so any new rust will be easily seen. They coated my JKUR as well but since that already has started to rust, it will be hard to see what is new. I'm told that I should have it touched up every year. The first application was $150 and the yearly touch ups should be between $50 and $100 depending on how much it needs. They pop off all the black drain plugs and spray up into the body as well as coating the undercarriage. Seeing as above the spare and the upper rear hatch are some known problem areas, I asked them to give a little extra in those areas. I will post again in the spring for a comparison.

Preserving Patina - How To Tips and Tricks

Read this thread for treating rust and then using Fluid Film. I know you aren’t looking to maintain patina, but the rust converter followed by fluid film method wngrog uses would bennifit any vehicle in the rust belt.

Installed an under hood light and also got my AHC spacers in from Japan 4x4. I can't believe how fast they arrived here in Seattle, it was 5 days from the date ordered to the time they arrived at my doorstep. Now I'm waiting on my OBD II interface cable to show up so I can install the spacers and adjust my shocks accordingly.

Hi,
Sorry to be completely clueless, but could you please let me know what those spacers do?
Thanks and cheers,

Gamiviti rack went on a couple of weeks ago. Solid piece of equipment.

Busy Day!
Got the interior climate control sensor cleaned and hooked up. Was non op when purchased. AUTO settings seem to function correctly now!
Addressed the cracks in heat shields to quiet the buzzing...
Fished bits of crud from inside tailgate to stop the rattling.
Lubed up rear pass window tracks and regulator roller; seems stronger, but will watch it for further developments.
Cleaned the MAF sensor.
Removed and cleaned air box bottom, found The inner fender plumbing askew: corrected. Runs quieter.
Replaced the heater “T”’s. One crumbled upon removal.
Tomorrow we hope to take it on it’s first REAL shakedown run after new timing belt, WP, and all 4 brakes being worked over.

This is our 1st 100 series LC.
99 with 141,500 miles.

(We have an 89FJ62.)

Been studying this section for a month or so. MUD has been INVALUABLE . THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE CONTRIBUTED to the 100 series collective!
Will post pics of rig on family shakedown run tomorrow.

Got some Metal Tech sliders on, man these things are beefy, can't wait to test them out on the trail but i have no doubt it'll hold up the 3 ton beast. Looks great too. A little tricky putting them on because of the AHC lines, snaking the Ubolt around the frame under the line while holding up the sliders were no fun, they're heavy!

Bypassed the secondary air injection system on our 2007 LX. The SAIS was replaced right before we bought (35k miles ago) it but the pump started to make a little bit of noise so I decided to bypass the useless system preemptively. I used the Hewitt tech kit. Instructions were clear, process is simple. We’ll see how it holds up.

Open the fuse box

Pull the starter relay (rust colored bottom right). Connect purple wire to small terminal and check voltage (I had less than .5 volts with engine off/ running. 12 volts with starter engaged).

Install harness on air box and connect purple wire with quick disconnect to harness.

Install block off plates into air tubes on backside of exhaust manifolds. This sucked on the passenger side. My hands would not fit on the back side. My wife had to assist. God have mercy on you if these are rusted.

After cranking the t-bars I started slinging CV grease so threw some new clamps on. Only the inner small clamp was leaking on PS and DS so that’s all I’ve replaced so far. So far, no leaks.

Thanks and cheers,

Not a dumb question. The spacers essentially add length/ height to the shock mounting location. This will allow additional wheel travel up/down when you adjust the height sensors for additional lift without bottoming out as quickly.

New to me 2004 Galactic Grey LC, w/125K miles. Pulled running boards, roof rack and trailer hitch. I have heater hoses and T's to change this week. The car is in the rust belt, so every fastener underneath the car can be an adventure. TB done at 91K miles. Had a bad leak in rear a/c lines and dealer said it was a frame lift repair. I told him to cap the rear lines. 3rd row seats in storage anyway.
So far pretty stock, and I'm really enjoying it.
Thanks,
Dave

Had a great family family day trip! Paid another visit to the Sandia Man Cave.
Shakedown run was pleasant!
VERY pleased with this 100!
Plenty of space for all, and the only brow raising sounds were the rocks coming out of the new KO2’s, and the wife and kids when we got close the edge of the road.
(I do need to investigate some wind noise from front/passenger door)
Low range works as it should as well, as does the rear locker.
Don’t tell my 62 this; but acceleration on the “on” ramp of the interstate was AWESOME.

It may be a new model Landcruiser to us, the the smiles per mile factor remains!

It’s the small things. Found a severely wrecked 100 about 10 minutes from me so me and @Greenbean went to take a look.....and I finally got a cup holder for the 2nd row that is not broken.....and also picked up the cup/change holder for the actual center console....I didn’t even know they had those.

I finished my middle row/2nd row storage system. I've only used my middle row seats a handful of times so I decided to do something with the space vs. keeping the 60 middle seat (of the 60/40 middle row seats). The goal was to make it level with the awesome KISS drawers so I can easily setup my Exped MegaMat.

I've had the 40 middle seat out for a while now and built a crude fridge mount for my 50qt ARB fridge which I've also recently redesigned to add a 5 gal Scepter water can, which I'll post pics of when I've got that setup mounted.

It's a little rough around the edges but it will get the job done. I had some old rock climbing gear around that I used to mount my heavy tool bags and 300P Viar setup so they don't slide all over the place. It looks like a rats nest, but unclip a few carabiners and the bags are easily accessible. Right now I've only got a bungee strap across the top to hold it in place, but I've mounted all of the heavy stuff so that in the rare case of an accident or sudden braking maneuver everything will pretty much stay in place. Another benefit is that my shovel and MaxTrax fit perfectly in the footwell while still being accessible from the passenger side.

Empty middle row, 2nd row seating area:

110 or so miles off pavement yesterday on kofa wildlife refuge. The recent rains made for some interesting wash crossings.

also found out why my tcase lever was stuck in high range. I pressed out the lever, wire wheeled it, and ran a brake caliper hone through the aluminum housing before greasing it up and pressing it back together.
