Looks like a BJ73.

Mod if this is not the correct series please move. Thank you

Lj73 ?

So from the poster it looks to be a 73 series Nice. Thanks

I see a lot of 73's for sale in the USA these days. Likely they are from South Africa or middle east and getting sold for very cheap there thus making them profitable for people to buy them and flip them in the USA for a tidy profit. Like any vehicle and especially specially imported ones at low cost....you want to thoroughly look it over to make sure it wasn't a field car that someone made used devious practices to make pretty and sell.

If this one is clean and runs well it looks like a pretty good deal at $12,000 assuming the import documents check out.

I think most BJ73's came with the 3B engine which is a very robust engine and a very slow one too. :)

More info
With vin. How would I find location of where it’s origin based on the vin. They say it was from Canada. Seems to be serface rust and rusty panels

So it’s an LJ73 model and sounds like it’s a 2L-T engine which would be a 2.4 liter turbo and apparently no where near as reliable as the 3B or 3BT. FYI I found all this with a quick google search.

Also this thread will probably get moved to the 70 section of the site and there those guys will probably have a lot more info than myself as I’ve only ever had a 60.

@Seth S thanks again for the info and hope it does get moved. I really love how much these guys know.

LJ73 ... if a 2LT, beats a 2LT-E.

Left hand drive and the vin tag makes me think it was a European model

Canada got the BJ-70. That is a LJ-73 by the tag, the engine and the different front sheet metal and it most likely has coil suspension all around. Most from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, northern France are plagued by rust. Italy, lower France, Spain, Portugal are better places as far as less rust.

This is an LJ73 from Belgium . The second ID/VIN plate is written in french and dutch , and all the Belgium Land Cruiser should have that second plate to be allowed to tow . My 1994 HZJ80 sold new in Belgium also has that plate and all Belgium Land Cruisers that I know have them . In Belgium the two official Languages are French and Dutch .
