It is listed as 'Guide, Transfer Shift Lever' in the parts diagram. PN 36323-60080. Looks like maybe it is a brace for the transfer shift lever shaft? Limiter for shifter travel?

haven't checked the maint manual to see if there is any description on specs or what it's suppose to do.
It keeps you from shifting into low range while in 2wd and also supports the rod/shifter. Many people modify it so 2wd Low can be used.
