I wish I knew what the current problem was, but it’s kicking my arse. 18” vacuum and a nasty miss under a load. Running lean. Either way, I have a factory carb off a 78’ 2f and I take manifold I’ll be swapping over and want to go vacuum advance at the same time.What is wrong with the distributor that is in it? What problem are you trying to solve?

I’m replacing the vac retard that is currently in the 40. I have a brand new Pertronix with coil in the vac retard, plus the 78’ dist and fj60 coil/ignitor to go with it. Which is best? I’m assuming the 78? My only hesitation is wiring it up because the 40 has been reworked with a painless kit.
