We have 2 holes in the center of the hood where a hood ornament would go. I didnt think that FJ40's had hood ornaments. Any idea what this is for?

Early 40s with split hoods had a chrome spear, but those holes appear to be drilled after the fact.

I second the Mack dog suggestion...or maybe the flying pig ornament

Had a 1960 Land Cruiser with the Mack Bulldog. The holes were side by side and closer together. Bulldog is standing on his rear legs and one stud coming out of each back leg. Maybe of Jaguar. Didn't old Oldsmobiles have a rocket or plane. Think the possibilities are almost unlimited with what was used last century.

Unfortunately I didn't think about it and weld them up when we were working on all of the rust before paint
