This year the Meet and Greet will be the 1, 2, 3 of March.... there were too many conflicts for dates in Feb with the barn and Barn owners not being available.

If you have never been to a meet and greet this is our annual "meet" the club event.
It is a getting to know members new and old.
There really is no format to follow other than a Tread lightly class will be held at 12 on Saturday and then we will have the club sponsored lunch/dinner followed by a meet the officers part and the unveiling of the club schedule for the rest of the year. Other than that feel free to converse, go hiking, sit around the fire, help in the kitchen..... what ever you want to do.

There are many hiking trails that connect to the property we will be staying on.
We are 8 miles from Badin lake and even more hiking trails in the Uwharries
We normally have a few sets of corn hole boards set up.
Large Camp fire
Feel free to bring any other games you may want to play.

This is an extremely family oriented club and we try very hard to make everyone feel included on any trips we do.

So mark your calendars now. :)

At Monk's barn... starts Friday night ends Sunday... but you can come and go as you please.

For those of you that haven't been PM me or Kenny for directions.

There is running water and a full kitchen. There is an out house also on site.

There is limited sleeping spots in the barn but many acres for camping and parking.

It will be a good time by all.

A lunch dinner hybrid will be provided by the club after the main meeting to get "official" business out of the way.

For all other meals you are on your own but most of the time everyone brings stuff to contribute for breakfast.

This is a kid friendly, animal friendly (provided they are well behaved) event.

If you've never been come out and meet the people that make this club so good.
This event is family friendly and is open to any active ONSC members, old members that want to rejoin or anyone interested in the club that may want to join after checking out an event

Directions:
The barn is about 1 mile north of the BP station on the corner of River rd and Hwy 24//27
There are basically 2 ways to get there using either hwy 24/27 or hwy 49

If you are coming from the Raleigh area you would want to do hwy 64 to hwy 49. When you reach Denton go south on hwy 109 past the outpost and on to River road. The barn will be about 8 miles down on the left. There will be flags out and a sign that says ONSC.

If you are coming from the Charlotte area you can go either 24/27 or hwy 49.

If 49. Go east on hwy 49 and go south on 109 when you reach Denton. Go past uwharrie and the outpost to river road and continue south. Barn is about 8 miles on the left and there will be flags and a ONSC sign up.

If 24/27 go east till you pass over lake tillery and turn left at the BP station on river road. The barn is about 1 mile up on the right. There will be flags and an ONSC sign up at the enterance.

There is no actual address so you can't map it with your GPS although i'm sure someone knows the actual GPS coordinates they will post up.

If none of these directions work for you google map from your location to the BP station on the corner of river rd and hwy 24/27

March 1st is my birthday, so a camping trip will be a great birthday present :D

Brian can you use your spider man web shooters and sticky this to the top of the page???

Will the trails be open? I know I'm slow...

We're going to try to come up for Saturday. Will need directions from Ballantyne area of Charlotte

I have decided that there will be a charge to use the barn for the meet and greet. To help cover expenses the club will have to pay $ 200 a night. Sorry guys!

In lieu of payment, a Yeti cooler that was recently won at a Ducks Unlimited raffle by a certain member with suffice!! :flipoff2:

^^ Sorry Meathead, you are starting to rub off on everyone with your ebonic posts. Just read some of Yeti's lately. ;)

Okay, I'll come clean. This was a joke that started on facebook over Meatball winning a Yeti cooler. Al, Parker, and Ramon were like a bunch of kids fighting over who gets first dibs on the cooler. I had to throw my hat in the ring, just to mess with them. Even though I still think I should get first dibs, being the oldest and wisest!! :flipoff2:

I have signed up for a 10 year family membership, so at least for the next ten years, there will not be a charge to use the barn for any ONSC function. After that, your screwed! J/K I hope I'm around 10 years from now so we can keep meeting/drinking/eating/socializing and just having a good time there. Oh, and drooling over some cool yotas!

Looking forward to seeing all the old members and meeting our newest addicts!

Hey now I've only had one meatball style post and I can attribute that to a massive amount of beer. Yours is just being ancient :flipoff2:
