You have perhaps had a sill replacement, as your hook only has two of the four bolts that are required to properly secure it. You should investigate whether you have ordinary hardware behind the sill, or fixed hardware.
Does the latch slide...
Just jumped on the Serra Toyota 25% off sale and picked up an FJ40 Upper Dash pad along with the spacers and bolts... all for $367 shipped to the door.
That's cheaper than the re-pop knockoffs... and honestly cheaper than I've ever seen. 💸💸💸
Hi @brasskey, I decided to respond to your PM here. I do not have anymore sets made up and it's not economical to make one set up. I'm posting here to see if there's any interest from other folks. If there's enuff interest, I would be open to...
I usually say slow down no matter what you drive . Night driving where there are deer is an accident waiting to happen. Good lighting, cattle guard, deer whistles and "slow" driving help but nothing works better than staying home. But we all...
I’m saving the old spring struts. Maybe rebuild ‘em with a gas strut inside like some here do. In the mean time, I really really like my hatch gate now. The AVR struts are great. Just open the hatch and step away… she rises on her own allllll the...
Looks great

Lol you said crappy American brake. The only thing crappy was the install and not using a proportioning valve. Nothing wrong with those calipers. I have used them for years with no issues.
didn't have a proportioning valve until 4 months ago so the rears were doing extra work. however not the point of this thread. Not at all interested one bit in hanging a giant vulnerable part under my car that mashes through rocks and whatnot on...
Call it a day
A handful of pits in the surface. This is not a job that I wanted to be doing right now, but I wanted to be able to say that there is not one iota of filler under the doors. 100% metal, primer and paint.

The PO had removed the dash pad yrs b4 I bought the 40. B4 I started working on other things, i sprayed the hinges with rust penetrant. I knew I'll evetually have to lower the windshield to replace the dash pad and the doors. You'll have to...
A little update. About 9000 miles in the last year and nothing major. I had to replace the transfer case input seal and chased some speed wobble issues that turned out to be a wheel that had thrown its weight but nothing else serious.
Glad I...
What was the thought process on tightening those u-bolts and u-bolt plate to yield or is there some strange fish eye effect going on that makes them look very much bent?
Hallelujah my engine vibration is fixed! The combo of the slightly different design (in my opinion much better). Of the Cruiser Solutions bracket, and a slightly longer belt have it lined up and smooth as butter. What a relief. Winch plate should...
