Was reading on red kotes website earlier. They don’t mention using this much. Got my myself second guessing myself that he probably said 4 quarts which is in line with what they recommend.
That’s going to be more palatable.
I know! ‘Sliders’, right? They’re really a cosmetic accessory more than anything. Maybe more useful in this incarnation as a step. Not like there’s much you’re in danger of slamming your rockers down on in the Dutch Bros drive thru.
Hey guys
I think the official SSS has been delayed until next year. Hard to get a real head count of 55s and people to commit to a weekend we can all make.
If someone wants to take the lead, go for it, but I can’t this year.
I'm with @scrapdaddy here and think they look great..
Once you start approaching the $5,000 magic time and money budget it's going to be hard to take this rig on the Rubicon trail or any trail where body damage is guaranteed...
After replacing...
Question for the frame-mounted slider crowd -
Is there a minimum distance between the slider and rockers needed to prevent contact during body flex?
I’ll just pull out the handy tape measure Bob M sent me and see here….
Huh. Lookit there...
Rescued my dad from potential impalement one day couple months ago. Boy do I have to keep my head on a swivel with him these days.
Glad you’re doing well Don! Gravity sucks
Finally found some brake fittings that are very close to OEM. Had a couple of near misses before I found these. Slightly shorter unthreaded lead-in but otherwise dimensionally more or less the same. Not sure about the silver vs yellow plating...
Seen that setting multiple times and love the waves at sunrise and sunset.
If I could have that along with the country sounds of the whipper wills and owls at night, coyotes and turkeys gobbling in the spring I would be set. I’m a sucker for...
Timely reminder that, at 79, it just might be time to heed the concerns of extended family and hire out winterizing the swamp coolers, especially the one atop the 2nd story. Especially since I've already experienced one backflip doing the same...
Damn it Don, what is it with the ladders. I hope everything will heal up good for you. I borrowed my Dad's ladders when he was in his eighties and I never returned them. He kept getting on the roof to clean gutters, stayed mad about it for years...
a little update.
had a little fall, spent a week in Hospital, a few broken ribs, yada, yada, yada. Home now getting better, off the oxy, feeling stronger everyday , a ways to go. Stay off Ladders after 70!
Guess I’ll make a quick post since we’re nearly through September.
Straightening of the hood is as done as I’m going to get. Pics don’t really do any justice, so I’ll just hold off until there’s some paint on it.
Went ahead and made my own 5/8”...
I believe the switch from R-12 to R-134a began in the late 1980s early 1990s.
Look for R-12 to R-134a adapter fittings "45° to O-ring" and then you could replace all the hoses with newer barrier hose and fittings but unless you're updating your...
