When my 2H head finally cracked I had similar conditions. When I drove 55mph all seemed fine, when I drove faster than that I would loose coolant. I can’t remember if the coolant temp also rose at the same time. One thing to double check is that...
Yep, I'm going to need to create a new hump cover in the back. Right now I'm planning on using the original's flange, cutting out the hump, and welding in new panels.
Once I get everything running, the final fabrication cruxes of this project...
Ha! Hope it wasn’t too boring
I ended up running a holset HE221w, 5.5cm. I know some have gone a little bigger but I’m at 3500-5000’ altitude. It’s a modern turbo and the smaller size works great with it. Transformed the 13bt drivability...
Unsure on stateside.. but here in Australia the parts aren't that expensive to convert to R134a.. Whilst a 2H, here's some images of my conversion. I'll get a part number for you for the 12HT compressor as its a pad mount compressor.. Its...
No, the Hilux is SFA, but there is a sealed bearing pressed onto the axle shaft so no real scope to wear the axle shaft or housing - and the bearing housing is replaceable. The down-sise is that it is even less field servicable than the SFA 60...
The 13bt does have a fuel stop lever you can manually move to shut the engine off.
In this guys photo it’s labeled: full load stopper no idea what it does.
It shuts the fuel off 😊. You could rig up a cable inside the cab to pull it for a...
Interesting.. the H and 2H engines will run backwards as well, the EDIC is meant to prevent it with its Low Oil Pressure Cutoff function, but when the EDIC fails Stop Cables are commonly fitted. The 13BT doesn't have any mechanism to prevent it...
I was worried about the DIY reverse eye springs breaking on the trip, but had not problems!
Also, after wheeling the 60, lower gears like a toybox would defiantly help, but not sure I want to add another thing that can goi wrong to the 60 since I...
If you're confident its not a low gas (again) fault then I would directly drive the compressor with a fused piece of wire - this will localise the fault to the compressor itself or the circuitry involving the A/C Amplifier.
And now to yesterday, destruction day.
I ended up driving from Hyder AK to east of Prince George the day before and the knock went from occasional to now being constant. But not too loud.
Yesterday I went from east of PG to Calgary AB where the...
Im really pleased now, half tank on the gauge , 300km done ! Not that I like putting fuel in the tank but curious to see the average at the next fuel up.
My timing is better on the reading but the engine sounds crisp , not a smooth as before ...
Well I haven't been much of a photographer lately but everything is done and in place .
Wow ... I'm in love again . The difference is quite incredible , so smooth and quiet. Hoping it will last !
Everything work even the 4wd light that never...
Measure the voltage difference from your fluid while running to the negative side of your battery. Anything over 0.3v is bad, and you really want under 0.1v

pretty detailed intallation and you get the pictures of the shackles installed the right way :)
Absolutely not.
The winch needs to cool down between short burst pulls. The stock alternator can easily keep up during the cooling periods.
I hooked up a regular hand held volt meter to the winch battery and mounted it in the cab so I could see...
Haha, potato quality photos.. always the biggest red flag:

I had a good laugh at the silver paint on the exhaust manifold and the side of the cylinder head too.
It's a one-off creation, likely made in Colombia or Costa Rica. Look very closely at the body work for the cab. Is the roof removable? Looks like it Isn't. Value will really specs on how well the work was done. I've seen very high quality with...
I do what I can with what I have heheh
limited budjet with a lot of resources and know-how can bring a build pretty far ! I need to work on my garage organization tho ... I would be much more effective ahahah
Now that the truck will be running...
