I did not do any brake work with the axle upgradeo ther than new lines. Pads were good and brakes as I recall anyway were working well and stopping straight. Pedal feel does not change with pumping.
I know land cruiser brakes are a bit odd. Do the rear brakes automatically adjust when...
Since rebuilding my front axle a couple months ago my truck pulls to the right when braking hard. I replaced the 3 soft brake lines during the rebuild. I've bled the lines a couple times. I have confirmed there is no air in the lines. It isn't too bad, maybe hardly noticeable except during hard...
Glad you made it. Looks like a ton of fun. Kinda jealous.
This is completely off topic, but is that a 3rd brake light I see? Kinda like that idea for safety reasons. When you have time, can you share more about that?
I'd probably never consider an SBC. I love the F and 2F. To me it's a big part of what makes the rig what it is. I've never driven an SBC 40 though and there are people I would consider intelligent that have them and like them so it comes down to what you like I guess. Probably worth checking...
Looks like the missing parts from you earlier photos are in your Cruiser already.
I did this last year. I too decided to bite the bullet on the SOR seat foam and upholstery kit. It was spendy for sure but I haven't regretted it for a minute. The seat foams are nice!
Looks like it could probably use a front knuckle job and there is definitely some oil leaks here and there, but like thabruiser said that has likely helped keep bolts, nuts and all sorts of things from being rusty. I don't know what's going on with the steering I'm only kinda familiar with stock...
@whitec13 thanks for the info. I really haven't seen much about Victory's bumper or any of their other products on here. I think I like the look of the bumper better than others I've seen. I don't care for how most of the after market bumpers make the 100 look like it has a huge over bite. Have...
Did you go with a Victory front bumper?
I'm considering one of these. Have any pics or thoughts/impressions of the bumper and install? How was it to work with Victory?
Well, after a few drives things are shaking out pretty well with the steering. Still wanders a little so definitely need to get some caster shims in there to help with that. I'm considering putting some new springs on it, so I'm gonna hold off on the shims until I decide.
Truck is pulling to...
I had a similar issue after doing a steering system and front axle rebuild. My steering is all stock but it turns out I had tightened down my centerarm too much. In the process of it all I tightened and loosened my steering box several times thinking that's where the problem was. I could tell...
What year 40 did you order these for. When I put in my year('77) it comes up with a different part number. Just don't wanna order the wrong thing.
Thanks
