Since rebuilding my front axle a couple months ago my truck pulls to the right when braking hard. I replaced the 3 soft brake lines during the rebuild. I've bled the lines a couple times. I have confirmed there is no air in the lines. It isn't too bad, maybe hardly noticeable except during hard braking from above 40ish MPH. But it's definitely there when I brake hard. It's possible it was there before rebuild and I just hadn't noticed it. Is it possible it's in the rear drums? Is it likely a front caliper? Just looking for advice on where to look next. Most likely culprit or best process of elimination I should use to find the problem.
Yes, the rear brakes can contribute to your issues. Also make sure your calipers aren't sticking and the rotors spin evenly. Does your pedal get better after pumping it? If it does, you still have air in the system.
Could be that either of your left side brakes are not enguaging evenly relative to the rights but I would check the front first and confirm that all the pucks move in and out of the caliper and that you have some brake lube on the inserts that the brake pads ride on
I did not do any brake work with the axle upgradeo ther than new lines. Pads were good and brakes as I recall anyway were working well and stopping straight. Pedal feel does not change with pumping.
I know land cruiser brakes are a bit odd. Do the rear brakes automatically adjust when reversing on a '77 like more modern vehicles?
No auto adjust. They need to be manually adjusted. Rear brake adjustment effects pedal height too. I'd pull the drums and inspect the brakes to make sure they aren't contaminated with grease or brake fluid. Then adjust them per the fsm.

I've always struggled a bit with rear drum brake adjustments
any time I pull drums/replace shoes I end up with slightly different enguagement left to right and its always been trial/error, drive, adjust, repeat process
eventually they wear in to a point where they are grabbing evenly
