I'd probably never consider an SBC. I love the F and 2F. To me it's a big part of what makes the rig what it is. I've never driven an SBC 40 though and there are people I would consider intelligent that have them and like them so it comes down to what you like I guess. Probably worth checking...

Looks like the missing parts from you earlier photos are in your Cruiser already. I did this last year. I too decided to bite the bullet on the SOR seat foam and upholstery kit. It was spendy for sure but I haven't regretted it for a minute. The seat foams are nice!

Looks like it could probably use a front knuckle job and there is definitely some oil leaks here and there, but like thabruiser said that has likely helped keep bolts, nuts and all sorts of things from being rusty.
