Haven't posted in a long time.. Figured I'd share the old girl. Recently threw on a set of skinny 35" Falkens sitting on Method wheels. Dissent front bumper, Prinsu rack, TKO sliders and Garage Alpha grille. Purchased this rig a few years ago...
I wish I knew. I did all these hard trails and no damage other than a few more scrapes on the diffs and LCAs. I was on a chill part of Italian Creek in the shade and my eyes/mind just plain didn't register a massive tree stump sticking out on the...
This literally happened to me summer of 2022 on Hells Gate. Bypassed the rear with the existing hoses and topped off with Moab city water and then drove all the way home to Portland.
Decided to try some different tires for daily driving. 37” KO2s in C on my non-beadlock RWs rocking @turbo8 rings, which are sick. Compared to my worn KM3s, it’s like riding on a cloud

Pearl Pass - tough but doable. definitely harder going west to east (the way we went), but it paid off. it was super foggy on the way up and views were limited to only about 1/2 mile. then when we hit the pass, it was totally clear on...
Were you running solo? Some of those passes are REMOTE with no cell coverage! I ran a few of those a couple of years ago (in a humble 470) but was worried all the time on Pearl Pass as the trail was basically deserted.
Doesn’t look like the a-pillar is bent. Mostly door and fender shells. Window still works on door. Hinges for door are toast but it looks like they just pulled back from door shell not pillar.
Well done sir. Great way to spend a week. Glad you got to hit all those suggestions and explore that part of the state. That’s a lot of seat time!!
Any Favorites? @dubyahard
Thought about that but the nice thing about the LX is how quiet it is. Not now though. I already bought a replacement door, mirror, and fender from a junkyard for a steal. Gets here 9/23. Just wondering if it's something I can do in the garage or...
Went on a week long trip around Crested Butte. Shout out to @Killacaviar for the route advice.
General direction:
Buena Vista
Mt. Antero
Hancock Pass (we were here the day before Williams Pass opened)
Tomichi Pass (ran out of time and skipped)...
37s are on.
How? Cut, beat, cut, weld, repeat….
@Zjohnsonua did most the heavy lifting on this phase.
Still plan to go back in a couple of months and dial in the AHC with new spacers and raise the rear lower shock mounts. I also still have a...
3-1/2” foam board going on. It gets cemented on with the same 50/50 mix of Portland cement and STO primer that I plastered the inside of the domes with. You use a 1/2” notched trowel to make vertical lines, so if any moisture happens to...
That is really minimal damage.. appears it's only the connector for the alternator that is damaged. You got lucky.
Also, try to get as much of the fire extinguisher material off of everything as possible. If it was a typical ABC rated "dry chem"...
With that kind of lead time I’d seriously consider finding someone that is willing to repair the existing harness. Someone very good at their craft. It isn’t that difficult, it’s just that most places don’t want to take the risk of problems down...
Well, I found one from a wrecked Lexus for not too much $$$ so I'm going to give that a shot. It arrives Friday - way better than 4-6 weeks.
I did talk to the Bell Lexus parts guy who has helped me in the past and he did not think the lead time...
Need some help here on some recent damage done.
In July 2024, I was on a family road trip and my original alternator died, est. 210k. It was the day before the 4th and I needed to leave the 5th so I didn't have any timely OEM options. I put an...
