You can also tip the diff back down , may be lots of work compared to ordering a new shaft. I’ve been running mine like this for 20 years. No vibes both angles equal No idea on the slope never checked it.

3 puppies is on to it. Mine didn’t fit either I removed the locking tabs and sanded the Warn Hub body cleaned up the wheel hub and they just fit they usually fit I had three different sets of aluminum wheels on mine. 1978. Center caps won’t fit...

is it hitting the locking tab? I thought the body of the hub is the same OD as the hub it bolts to

Better shoot us some pics of your drive shafts looks like you might have a CV joint and if so your driveshaft may be on backwards I got checkerplate on mine. I just coated the back of it with rockergaurd. Haven’t removed them in 20,years so no...

Did ya test fit it with the shock attached ? Is you axle in stock location. Just curious. Looking good. I had to play with mine a bit to get it just right to keep the shock bushings from getting destroyed.

Yep, the tcase and birfs are the weak links. I run sm420, dana 20 tcase with 2.46:1 low range and 4.88's and smaller tires. I gave up on offset rear output tcases on my trail friendly 40. I centered the rear diff.

Mine also uses all the stock gauges. I too bypassed the amp meter gauge and I too run a dummy light for the gm alternator, You get it all sorted. I run the stock axles chromoly birfs and lunchbox lockers front and back running 38,5 swampers and...

Why in the heck would you do that? I am just going by something JimC shared with me once. But what does he know?

The proximate cause was leaving it running with that sm465 in low. That is a lot of torque on those four measely 8 mm bolts.

Will do it every time... fixed this a few times for folks who forget that the emergency brake is set. :meh:

Haha mine was narly and rusty and crusty. I popped the clutch in low gear with ebrake on and it grabbed drum real good and twisted off the 4 little bolts that hold the backing plate on and rapped my ebrake cable all around the shaft as it spun...

I did them like this on the front I have them on top of axle on the rear there on the bottom side. I use the same length shocks front and rear. It just worked out that way by chance ..

I welded on a pin and flat stock to the bottom of the axle tube. ,,
