I've been creeping on here for a while now and figured I should get my but in gear and join and contribute.
Been driving Toyotas for over 25 years. First was a 1987 4Runner. I bought my first FJ40 last year, an 01/73 with a F155, California model. Up here in Canada I was so lucky to find one not rusted out and well cared for over the last 50 years.
I've slowly been rebuilding items and have completed the followed so far:
- new OEM fuel pump and lines
- new dizzy, coil and electronic ignition
- Gear reduction starter
- rebuilt 4 speed transmission and clutch
- rear locker and ARB compressor
- LED headlights
- 4Plus front bumper with 8274 winch
- all new coolant hoses and water pump
- new plastic fan
- new group 31 battery and tray
- rebuild cowl vent and drain lines
- added steering column RPM gauge
- ND coolant overflow tank
- shocks
- Currently working on all weatherstripping
- rebuilt liftgate
Slowly repairing rust areas and in the middle of a full rebuild of the canopy down to removing the rivets and all seals and paint redone! What a labour of love...
Next on list - leaf springs(2.5" OME), wheels, roof rack, and power steering
