Steering idler arm

I start disassembling steering box and idler arm
I found like 8 months ago the all kit from Toyota on eBay , it came with all you need to make a real new idler arm!! so I start sand blasting all thing, powder coat on satin black, then install the two bushings with a press..........

Saludos JAD, esta chingon tu cruiser! Keep up the good work... Arriba las CHIVAS!:D

The worm gear is offset from the other gear in the steering box. Moving shims from one side to the other will help with any loose steering. Did this to my 68 back in the mid nineties and it helped a lot with my loose steering.

I do have a question you. Did you ever tackle making the small plastic cover on the windshield wiper motor? I know many here could use one or two. I have that is 95% that with go in my 70 (the one pictured in my avatar) but could use a few more if have or make any more. The seat release handles you made from just the pictures looked great. I know you would be up to the task of making the wiper cover.

and could you make early wiper covers (for the dual motor setup)? i have one decent cover and need six. :frown:

Not sure what cover you are talking about? Motor covers that are stamped metal, the rubber piece that slides over the terminals?

That would be 61 to 67 models for the wipers. 68 model was the first one with a single motor.

Did you make a cover the contacts on the wiper motor. It would have been black plastic and very thin plastic.
