I was tying down D8 dozers and driving 40 foot low boy trailer’s before I was 15 year’s old.
I guarantee it’s safe there’s not enough angle in the straps to be a issue in a straight forward emergency stop or otherwise.
That being said I would like to have some axle Attachment points to eliminate the axle straps all together. When I weld those on they will be position so the ratchet straps can run straight.

Unfortunately we did not get to run the trail because one of the drivers got cold feet or whatever and wanted to turn back.
I don't like to send someone back on there own so we all turned around and went back together.

We ran Cliffhanger and I got hung up on the same big rock that smashed quarter panel and took out the tail light last year.
This year the only damage was some scratched paint on the armor
