Hi guys, second time this happens, first time after I towed with the 200, the rear suspension fell bumpy, and I decided to change the rear shocks. I felt like the shocks had blown, and the feeling went away with new shocks. At that time the car had approx. 95K miles and I felt it was time to change them, and probably the tow, had something to do with them going bad.
I don't tow much, and I used to tow with a Tundra with no problems before for years.
Fast forward this past weekend. I decided to tow a 2006 SC430, on my trailer over 500 miles, and back with the empty trailer 500 miles. On the way back, the jumpy feeling came back, and I thought the trailer tires needed balancing, and thought nothing of it.
But I've been driving the 200 back and forth to work, and It feels again jumpy in the rear. Its only been less than 15K miles since I put new OEM shocks from Toyota. I cant believe, the shocks went bad again.
I hate to put new shocks every time after every tow, lol, and don't want another Tundra.
I have researched into Airbags and or maybe upgraded rear springs for towing, but wanted to hear some opinions.
Not sure if firestone airbags are the best option, I can import from Australia..
went through this thread, but it goes sideways on big camper topics and other stuff
dont mind to modify the truck either, but not looking to get a lift either.
just looking for a setup that will not blow my shocks when I tow a car hauler, with a car on top, which is only few times a year, and not planning on towing a heavy camper, or towing regularly. I dont off road either..
airbags and upgraded shocks maybe, just want to see what other guys in my position are doing.
Im sorry if the question may be to vague, i tried to be as specific as I could...
