Hi all, just joined the forum, been reading and lurking. I am interested in getting into the scene, buddy of mine has 4 Toyotas and has me itching. I currently own a 2020 Silverado TrailBoss (sorry!), but looking to build an off road rig. I'm interested in a LX470 or Land Cruiser, 1999 to 2005. Good buy or too good to be true 2001 lc

I have been searching for a landcruiser or LX for a while now, and I spotted on at a local car dealership in my town. I am a bit weary of buying from a used car dealership, so I thought I’d ask here for opinions. The timing belt has been replaced, but there is no date or mileage on the sticker so I don’t know when. Took it for a drive and it drove great I’m just a bit worried about having to fix m problems on the truck that I am not seeing right away. Time to sell my wife’s 100 series. I bought this off mud last year and she only put 5k miles on it. Had to buy another truck for company tax reasons, so unfortunately have to let this go. Traded in our 2019 LX470 for this car with 30,000 miles on it in 2008 so the LX470 has been in our DNA for over 20 years. Kills us to sell but moved to the city and purchased a smaller daily driver. Never any issues with this car. Changed oil religiously at 5,000 mile intervals. Recently serviced in November with new brakes and rotors all around, repacked the front hubs, changed the rear differential fluid and had oil service. Changed transmission fluid and spark plugs in summer 2019. ACH works fine. Undercarriage in great shape. Reupholstered front seats in 2019. Timing belt replaced at 190,000. I am narrowing my search range after spending the last week search all corners of the web for LCs. This forum has been a huge help identifying some of the more common scams. Ideally looking for a 2006 or 2007 Land Cruiser or LX 470. I am located just north of NYC so local would be PA, NJ, NY, CT. I have family in FLA who could visually inspect for me so would also consider Tampa or Miami area (upshot of little to no rust down south). Ideally 1 owner or well document history of maintenance. Like the darker colors - black, gray even silver. No gold or white. Love the pacific blue on the LC, but that seems a less common color.
