I've decided I need to consolidate my stable some, so sadly the 55 is up on the block. It is a fully running 1973 with stock 1F engine, 4 inch lift and 33" pizza cutters. It also comes with an 1982 FJ60 for parts, which I'll get to in a minute. Despite some issues, this has been my daily driver for the last couple years, and is fully functional in that respect.
The included FJ60 is a vehicle bought from a friend (with title) with a tanked engine (desert mice chewed a hole in the coolant line.). Some parts have already been scavenged from it, but its purpose was to donate transmission, transfer case, and axles, power steering, and anything else useful to the 55. 1973 Toyota FJ 55 Land Cruiser for sale. $10,500. I have owned the Cruiser for the past few years and used it as a daily driver. With my kids getting older I need something more modern. '72 fj55,
original straight 6 with sm420 trans. dana 60 rear and late model front axle. top was gone wen i got it. made the top that it has now.
the rear corners had some rust, so i fabricated a new rear panel and rebuilt the frame under rear deck with new body mounts. so the pig now has a bit of a bed on the rear. i have a complete '77 chevy 350, turbo400, 205 tcase and full size axles that go with the rig. I REALLY dont want to sell but I need a new truck for work, so sadly my toys gotta go. I know i wont ever get out what i have in it, so text or call me if your interested and make me an offer or maybe trade for toyota 4x4 pickup or 4runner. the least i can do is say no thanks. I have a 71 fj55. I was in the process of taking the axles, ps and other bits out of a 1982 FJ60 and put them in the 55. I also had big plans for a new power train for the 55. that was 4 years ago, my son is now 3.5 and I don't know when I will have time to get back to the project. Now I really need the garage space back so it has to go somewhere and It would be ridiculous to pay to store it.
I have the front axle on both cruisers removed and the spring hangers removed from the 55 and the 60 front axle sitting under it. I have a set of Ruff Stuff spring hangers for the 55 that need to be welded in and the axle bolted up. The engine, TC and trans are gone from both vehicles. The rear axles are still under and...
Got a retired trail rig. One cylinder went down on the 305 I swapped in and has sat now for a good while...tons of awesome parts. 305 V8, SM420 4 speed, #32 advanced adapters rock box, and factory 3 speed t-case. Axles are locked (front has a lockrite and rear is welded), both are 5.29 geared, scout power steering with hydro assist, high steer, warm premium hubs, disk brakes, rear has warn full float kit with disk brakes, on board air, PTO winch, etc. not a great lookin ride but this thing will go anywhere, can help load onto your trailer and I do have a title for it. I have zero affiliation to this and am not familiar with 55s but thought someone might be interested.
1972 fj55 with title,has rust in usual place,lower fenders,rockers,lower quarters.It is drivable but hasn't been on road in a couple years.It needs brakes adjusted and carb work -has hesitation when giving it gas.The interior needs covered no headliner also.It does have panels covering rust on front fenders that have been riveted in and the blue has been repainted and the white is grey primer.It is in NC ph#-336-267-8532
