Selling my project vehicle sonce I am moving. This is a 1972 FJ40. The 3/4 tub is from CA and though it had plenty of dents very little rust. Truck also comes with a ton of extras such as brand new 34x9.5 TSL's, a brand new complete 2.5" OME suspension kit. Also comes with a chevy rear disc brake conversion kit. Other odds and ends are included such as epoxy primer and such to start the restoration. I am asking $5500 OBO, but would definitely trade for a 1st gen 4Runner or mini truck of the same era.

Just wanting to get some ideas on listing prices for this 1980 FJ. I will have it in my possession soon once it arrives from overseas. I have been told as high as $100K, but wanted to get some feedback from the community. Mileage shows less than 1,700 Kilometers. The seats are literally brand new and wrapped in protective paper. Also, where should I list it? Your feedback is much appreciated.
72 FJ40 , chevy 350 engine , rebuilt TH350 trans , toyota Tcase. 14 circuit painless wiring harness . Corbeau seats upfront. I'd give the body a 6/10 and the frame 8/10 for overall condition. 31in Patagonias on stock 15in wheels , brand new 4in rough country suspension. Brakes are all new from the booster down to the pads. New fuel tank. Top and hard doors stay off most the year alot of other stuff done over the last 8yrs. I can give more photos or upon request!

Selling my 1970 FJ40, recent refresh on the 1F from a local professional, new webber carb, engine runs great, body needs some work. Little rust in a few locations, and needs some upgrades on som eelectrical. Comes with bihimi and hard top, but there is some parts missing to install hard top correctly (about $600 or so) I can send more pictures or Facetime if intereted and looking closer, $12,000, no trades at this time as we are starting another project.

Up for sale is a 10/79 FJ40. clean CA title current reg. 126K miles. CA truck previous owner was the 2nd owner, he lived in AZ before moving to the Bay Area. Runs and drives great has new saginaw PS system, front/rear discs which work amazing, can lock up 35s on dry pavement. It has the stock 2F/4sp. 2.5" lift leaf springs. Got this project threeish years ago and made some headway but just dont have the time to get it where it should be. I sourced it from the high desert in Nevada. It's a 1967 FJ40, orignal F engine and 3 on tree. Miles unknown but ODO currently says 81k. Runs, drives, sorta stops. This is still a project that needs trailered. I've driven it around the neighborhood but thats it. Great candidate for restoration.
Runs good. Sourced a NOS original carb from Spain and got that on there. New plugs wires filters etc. I put a cheap paper element air filter on, the orignal oil bath filter is in my posession if you would like it.
Brakes have a small leak on a hard line and the whole system needs a refresh

Selling my 40 as it spends far too much time sitting unused. Its been an amazing truck and I'm reluctant to let it go. Its powered by a Chevy 350 backed by the legendary Muncie SM465. It hauls ass. I bought it in January of 2021, here is that listing. Since then I've added OEM wheels and center caps with 33 x 10.50 Maxxis Razrs along with a 4 plus spare tire swing out. I replaced most of the rubber fuel lines earlier this year. I bought Procar buckets and a Tuffy center console along with short later model rear fold down sears. It's self-reflection time. I enjoy the idea of owning a 40 more than actually owning a 40.
If you enjoy white-knuckling at 42mph, the feeling of sitting on shifting-cinder blocks, fuel-smell and tractor steering then maybe this lifestyle is for you, for me it is not. I have probably put a couple thousand miles on this thing since I bought it 5 years ago.
Ok, here are the pros and cons
Cons:
-It's a 40
-There is some filler in the rear quarters
-The weber carb needs a tune (this is probably the first thing I would just go ahead and replace)
-The paint is not original and is decent but not great
-Battery is currently dead
