Do you have the title?
Was your dad the original owner?
If not, what is the milage on the title and title date?
More pictures would be nice to show the inside and underside and engine and just all around in general.

IIRC the OP said he was traveling, or was away with work, so maybe a response will be forth coming

Do you have the original hardtop, front and rear doors? The soft top and doors on it aren’t original.
Yes it's all in the garage where the vehicle has been kept
I’m 3 hours away on the coast. When are you going to be available to show it?
I just got home from yachats. I will be available this weekend . And I'm going to be taking more photos to post here you might get more info from the photos and safe yourself the trip. I'm going to take photos of the motor and tranny and well everywhere

@flyduck541
Don’t take anything too seriously, we’re genuinely a good group of helpful folks who are deeply passionate about these vehicles and have the knowledge to back it up.
Also, most of us have seen the new member post about an impossibly low mileage fj40 in complete original condition. It very well may be that your dad’s truck only has 17k on it. It’s just highly improbable. Also, the truck is not totally original. None of this really matters though, if it’s in good to great condition even with 117k on it, it’s still a valuable vehicle. Potentially.

Let’s see some better pictures. We will tell you more than you’ve ever wanted to know about it.

Ian
Thank you I will be taking the photos very soon and than posting I'm going to take as many as I can and you guys will be able to judge and hopefully lead me to what a good sale price is

Well, I put in an offer and haven’t heard back. In fact, OP hasn’t responded to any of my messages so I’m moving on. Going to buy another FJ40 from another source. GLWS

He may not know the layout at all and may not realize that he has “mail”.

He is very new with only 8 posts, if it were me, I would be more patient.

If you’re really open to offers, I’ll give you $2000 as it sits, come get it today and you don’t have to answer anymore questions.

As stated, it’s been repainted, has aftermarket wheels and looks like some extra wires in the pic you can see by the fuse block. So it’s not all original. Also as said, that doesn’t mean it’s junk or not worth anything, just need a lot more and better pics and be open to what it is.

I’d push it outside and take good, clear pics (not screenshots) of all sides, the engine from different compartment angles, the interior from different angles to include the whole dash and as much underside as you can get. Also helps to know what range of price you’re thinking. Sitting 10 years means probably doesn’t run? Are you hoping for $20k? Never going to happen. $10k? Depending on rust and completeness, maybe possibly to the right person but will take a lot more effort on your part. My guess is south of $10k but I don’t see near enough to make a legitimate call.

Also, there looks to be either a plow attachment or trailering setup on the front bumper. I would highly doubt there’s 17k original miles and unless you have rock solid paperwork to prove it, the mileage doesn’t matter as much as the overall condition and completeness.
