I hope you get your 22K, because that makes my $25k 40 with a running sbc/nv4500 with power steering and 4 wheel disc brake cream puff 40 worth a lot more.

In my experience if you offer things for an honest price you'll get honest offers
^^^^^I agree with this^^^^^

You'll always get low ballers and there are basically 3 ways to respond to them. Dont respond, say no, or counter with an offer and see if they are legit. Calling members names around here typically doesn't work. This group mostly call balls and strikes. We dont like to see potential buyer taken advantage of, and we want to see sellers be successful. The members here have skin in the game because we all have a passion towards our vehicles. They are many posts on this site where new folks ask about value of a potential buy. Some folks will offer there opinion with a dollar amount and others will pick it apart so the potential buyer knows what they are in for. I try for the latter, so the buyer is an informed buyer. If you look thru some of the other ads you will find where the seller was called out for extreme pricing. If the price is out of line I will comment if its out of line. If I offer an actual value, it would be an offer to buy. I believe the price is between the seller and buyer to negotiate. I think the members have been restrained, by only commenting on the cut hump.

Yes you'll get higher offers if you put up a higher initial price, but when I see 22k on something like this, I check out. I wouldn't want to insult someone with what I think this is worth by coming in with an offer

It would not be an insult from somone that is interested in a 40 and my response would be courteous. "I apprecaite offer but not going to work. THANK YOU"
I have been there, purchased my first 40 1996 the guy wanted 7K I offered $3.5 he said yes. Was simple and was old school way of doing thigns. We had to do things over landline not in a cowerdely way. Now that people have commuincation at their finger tips they forget how to behave they all just want to be seen " I am a landcruiser guy I know everything I have marketplace" Thank you

That doesn't work either. This isn't ebay.. Usually a price is required. I'd suggest posting more pics, Side shots and especially the rear with the tire carrier open and then the rear inside with doors open. Folks want to see the blemishes. Your fighting a seized engine and there's no way to assess the rest of the driveline. If it looks good and the price is right they'll be intrigued. Your ad is on IH8MUD.

I appreciate everyone that messaged me privately and thank you for support I know you don’t want to get trolled or ridiculed for questions.

As for others conspiring to set prices to rip people off on here the market is all over the place. You don’t know any facts on what I paid or when I purchase and what it cost me to transport it.
I set the price at what ever I want, if it don’t sell it don’t sell not desperate. There shouldn’t be a consensus or a dictatorship on here. No one should set the price but the one who owns it. if I bought it when market was high or maybe engine had a blowout don’t need to explain anything to anyone.

Also for your info I have purchased couple 40s on here same situation priced fairly high I negotiated a good price not lowball and both those members got low ball offers from others. (Maybe same clan telling me I’m too high)
In the past 30 years I have owned a dozen 40s 45s 60s and 62s you can keep preaching.

Grown people make their own decisions.

Appreciate everyone questions that messaged me privately. Thank you
