Dash Repair

I have an original dash in my FJ60… with a crack as pictured. Long term plan was a new dash from Rust Farmers when it is available but is there a way to repair this short term?

There are a few good tutorials on dash repair with spray foam and or body filler on you tube. It ends up being a pretty invasive procedure, the demo dashes I saw being repaired did come out well though. I would wait for the rust farmer dash if I had that tear, but that's just me. My 62 had the perforated area torn out so I went with a used ($$$) dash. I'll eventually build up the courage to refurb the old one, maybe.

Search on Mud, some have done with excellent results. I recall @NCFJ has in one of his builds.

I went through this a couple of years ago. I tried the padded dash filler and plastics welding into the cracks. The problem I kept running into is the dash was fragile that everytime I got a crack grooved out filled in a sanded flat, the area next to it would crack and I would have to restart the process. I ended up covering it with some 4 way stretch vinyl to make due until Rustfarmer has his dash dialed in

I've done a few dashes with this process. On later jobs I glassed over the cracks individually, let cure and sand then glassed over the entire dash.
