1976, fj40 - nc
I will not bore you with some sob story of why I'm selling this 40. Me and the wife just bought a house and it needs work, so I'm trying to free up some cashola. I also just got a great deal on a 99 4runner. We were not planning on getting the house, AND I was never planning on the FJ40 or the 4runner. So the 40 is low man on the totem pole. FJ40 was from Arizona, bought on MUD and sent to NC. Was kind of running when I got it. It is currently in a shop getting quite a bit of work done to it; brakes, axles, bearings, seals, calipers, shoes, electrical work, Power Steering, etc, etc, etc... Yes it is currently in the shop, however I know these things don't sell over night so I'm starting now. Heres some of the old ad: Front tub...

74 fj40 $8500.00
74 fj40 $7500.00 Priced Reduced $7500.00 Well 2012 was a pretty awful year. I find myself needing some cash. So my Cruiser is for sale. As badly as I don't want to do it I have to. In 2008 I stripped it to bare metal and repainted. I have full documentation on this. It has been in my possession since I believe 1998. In 1999 I did the V-8 conversion with TH350, Saginaw P/S and Disc Brakes. It has front and rear Lockrights, Rancho 9000's, Warn 8274, 4 Plus front bumper OME 2 1/2 spring and 1 1/2 shackle lift BFG 35X12.5 M/T Kayline Fast Trac soft top and a bikini top. My baby is not stock it was built to have fun in the mountains. And we did! Everything is in working order it is going to need some TLC...
I have a 1979 Toyota FJ 40 with 85,151 original miles. The body is completely rusted and the frame is questionable. The top is in decent shape with only a few spots of rust. This would be the main item I would look at if buying it for parts. The rear jump seats are also in pretty good shape. I believe the motor is locked up as is it has not ran in close to five years. All the original parts are pretty much there in various conditions. It is currently located near Bunn, NC as I just had to move it. It is also listed on craigslist at http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/3492029432.html. Please drop me a line with any questions or offers.
I need to sell or trade my '73 due to our growing family. Lots of work done to it. Has a '75 GM 350 with a 4 speed trans. 6" lift (2" body, 4" spring). Had the leaf springs rebuilt to lower and new shocks installed. Brand new Holly 4barrel 400 series carburetor and starter. Also new battery. Have lots of extra parts via, telescoping mirrors, back seat (no bracket), carpet and liners and bikini top. Soft doors were trashed so salvaged hard door off a '72. Oh and new windshield. Steering linkage has beed beefed up to to 2" steel. Drive shafts extended. Yolk in t-case rebuilt. Definitely needs some cosmetic work and very minimal mechanical left. I have invested aprox $5000 and bought it for $4000. Asking $8500 to offset, but need to...
Hello All, New to this forum. I recently aquired a 1977 FJ40. It was a long time private residence plow vehicle. The lady i bought it from says she got it stuck and burned the clutch up...im pretty confident that its more than that..and likely a broken input shaft. The truck starts right up and runs fine...but ive never driven it..only started it. I wanted to put it on the road..but its just way too much of a job for me to do so. It is completely rusted out. The rear bumper rusted off...the renders, tub, floors, ambulance doors..etc..ruster through all the way around. I believe the top is ok, but i have not looked at it thoroughly...i believe the hood it pretty good..grill.. etc. Pretty much everything works in it..wipers...
Been all over craigslist and ebay and still have not found anything that is worth jumping on. I live in Santa Barbara but I can travel. I am after a driver that can driven and enjoyed. I am willing to spend up to $10,000. Color or patina is not as important as limited rust and mechanically sound. It will not be modified. Thanks for looking and responding.

1976 fj40 $5,500
Hey Folks, I'm selling my '76 FJ40, located in Portland, Oregon. I haven't had it very long. I got it to use as a hunting rig, but decided I need something more practical for longer drives. I also could use the cash flow at the moment. The good: It's a solid rig with no major rust issues. Engine runs good and strong V8 conversion done correctly Disk brakes The bad: Clutch is slipping, but drive-able Tires are old Intermittent fuel leak at the tank, not sure of the source Cold blooded (carb needs rebuild) Missing upper dash pad, head rests, and radio http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/3533624780.html

Hey fellas, Long time lurker here, first post. Let me start by saying what a great site! I grew up with an FJ40, and it's time to relive my childhood. What I am looking for is a pre 1975 (California smog exempt) FJ40 in decent shape. I guess you caould say a frame on restoration. V8 with a 4spd, preffered. You all know the crap thats out there, and what people think it's worth in thier own minds. I drove one last week that was so cherry, but the ding dongs rubberized with the undercoating in a can the entire underneath, leafsprings, t-case, both bumpers, interior doors, and lower rockers. But is was sweet to drive one again! So if you know of someone in SoCal who wants to get rid of one, please PM me.
1963 FJ40 SoCal
SOLD*************I've decided I'll never get to this project since I can't seem to finish my 55, so it's time to pass this on to someone who want's to restore an old 40. It's got a pretty clean body for being a 63. Corners look good, not cut, floors look good. It's got a funky PS setup, but I've got 99% of the part to convert back to OEM steering. It's got a Chevy 6 cyl. in it. I've never started it, but it ran about 2 years ago from the PO. I found a hardtop for it. It has a broken bolt, so it wont sit down all the way. Need to drill it out and retap... I've got all the original seats including the rear. I've got extra parts: fender, gas tank, 1/2 doors, bikini top, whatever else I can dig up...I've got 2 3.73 3rds I'll throw it if you...
