Located in Sheridan, WY. I am the third owner of this 1970 LC. It was bought new in Sheridan, WY, spent most of it's life in Hardin, MT, then some years in Billings, MT. I bought it in non-running condition from the original owner's nephew. I got it to run, replaced the springs and shocks, and converted it to four wheel disc brakes.
It starts reliably and runs pretty good. Interior is in mint shape. I think the carb needs to be rebuilt. It does not go faster than about 50 mph; it seems to kinda bog down at that speed. It may need new plugs. I gave it new belts and hoses, and new fluids, too.
I have too many cars and too many projects. This one has to have a new home.

Up for sale: 1977 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
Here is the situation; I bought this rig sight unseen. I was told that the motor was strong and it ran great. When I picked it up and took it to a mechanic, I found out that was not the truth. The motor has some flat cams, rod knock, and a leaky radiator. This rig either needs a new heart or a rebuild on the current one. I was trying to buy a turn key because I do not have a garage, time, or know-how to do an engine rebuild or swap.
Maybe you have an engine gagging for great looking rig? Maybe you just want all the parts for your engine and frame? Let me know.

I bought my 40 in 2008 while I was in college. I’ve spent the last four years slowly building it. All my money leftover would go in this thing and I didn’t mind at the time. I’ve spent a lot of money on it. I was building it for myself without the thought in mind that one day I would sell it. I’m now out of college and have an ok job, so I need to plan ahead for the future. I’m selling it now to gather up a down payment for a condo. 1978 FJ40. 350 conversion with GM 465 4 speed trans. 4 wheel disc brakes. 3" lift with 33" BFG tall skinnies. Hardtop, doors, and ambulance doors included and in excellent shape. Rhino lined tub. Runs great. Steering and brakes are excellent.
Best part of this truck is the body / frame. Super clean and dry. This is an original red truck that has seen one exterior respray, so you can still the original red paint under the hood, etc.

I have finally decided to pull the trigger. I am in no hurry but want to start looking for the right one. I will try to be as specific as possible. I am willing to spend up to 10K on this adventure.
Looking for a pre-78 with F or 2F engine. Minimal rust is a must as I don't do body work yet. Mechanicals will determine price. I can usually fix anything mechanical or electrical.

Virtually rust free for an FJ, originally from New Mexico. Unfortunately need to sell. Work in progress and has not been wheeled (waiting to put in cage).
Motor is 350 from a 91 truck.Runs smooth and makes great power. Has edelbrock intake and carb.oil cooler, electric fan. Toy 3 spd box and tcase. Warn hubs, but otherwise stock fj axles ready for upgrades.
Saginaw power steering conversion done correctly (mounted behind front crossmember, not hanging out in front like a jeep).
Wrap bar, SOA with cut and turn
Suspension set low to allow for big droop, currently set for about 2" up flex in the front 4" up in the rear. Have extra spring packs so you can set it as high as you like.
Rear axle moved back 10" front...
