What did you do on your 70 series today?

That would be awesome! Apparently there's no coverage at the event (a bit of a cellular deadzone?) but i should have satellite messaging. I can DM you my number and let you know roughly where we'll be?
Sounds great! The location is down in a low spot, I don’t recall what kind of reception they have but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is pretty spotty.

Some new door cards for the hdj just in time for a bit of a wintery blast, couldn’t find a set the same as was on it, but the vinyl will be easier to clean anyway

Replaced the front door checks and pins on the 77 over the weekend. Tried this stuff on the interior panels while I had them off. Hardener hardened pretty damn good.
Just a warning: I did similar on my door cards. The product I used had some solvents in it that migrated trough the cards and damaged the vinyl. Glad it worked out for you.
Cheers Ralf

Replaced the crushed tubing for my windshield washers. Each nozzle has one strong stream and one super weak mist. Guess I'll order replacement nozzles but at least I have some fluid flowing.

I replaced the hood insulator on the 74 today. Shout out to @cruiseroutfit for supplying it. Not only that, it was in stock along with the 16 clips necessary to install it.

The clips are very robust. Plastic trim tools won't touch them. You need a steel tool.

While I was at the shop I also picked up a new headlamp washer jar lid. That was also in stock.

That is dedication to this hobby.

The bj70 is now my daily driver. It’s been buried in the backyard behind others projects. My main car just lost its lower end. So the 70 is back on the road. It’s old, not very aesthetically pleasing at the moment with all its Canadian rust, but it’s reliable, starts every time, gets me from point A to point B and doesn’t even complain.

Can one even call themselves a Land Cruiser shop of they dont stock a 7x Series hood insulator and a few dozen windshield washer bottle caps for a 7x Series? 😄

Always great seeing you!

not very interesting, but today I ordered new rear tail lights (RH8155160370 LH8156160290) and bulbs (9913211210) to go with them. The previous owner of my KZJ78 added distasteful LED rear tail lights that I’m not a fan of and they were faded badly so it will be a nice upgrade.

I also made a post earlier today mentioning an oil leak in my engine bay which was determined to be a valve cover gasket leak. That seems like a relatively (knock on wood) easy repair as I am in the process of getting all my ducks in a row to do my EGR deletion and EGT probe install so I can do that while I have the intake and throttle body off.

There’s been more done to my HZJ78 in the past months than I have time to write about, but today I finished the install of my seats and armrest fridge…

Those are amazing looking seats!

I'm having a hard enough time just trying to find fabric seat covers for my incoming HZJ76...

Those seats are unbelievable.

BTW...When I was looking for something that would just add height to the plastic "armrest"/Emergency brake console, a relative in Japan said the current over landing trend there is Arm-Rest Fridges - then your picture!

Excuse my ignorance but - would the fridge create heat in the cabin and make the A/C work a little harder than stock?

Thanks in advance and have a fantastic weekend.

I’ve never considered the fridge making the AC work harder - honestly, I think the AC works by blowing cold air at you, not by cooling down the space…
I have beautiful (IMO) fabric seat covers on my HZJ76, but they aren’t available AFAIK. Ali, the 2008 HZJ76 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ali-the-2008-hzj76.1272844/
There are some companies which make covers for the stock seats, I believe eg Takla (sp?) in RSA does.
