I'm reposting this with a price discount and more photos. This is my daily driver. It's in great condition. It has a Chevy 350 V8, uses an Australian transfer case for 4-wheel drive (I'm getting the details on this), custom built disc brakes, bench seat in the front, safari seats in the rear and, of course, brackets to hold a shotgun on the dash (but no cupholder). Not sure about the miles, the only thing on it that doesn't work is the odometer. It has four gears including reverse. It's been in SoCal for all but the last three years. It's currently in Fairfax, Va.

I have an aerosol black 69 FJ40. 33" tires, Weber carb, soft top with full soft doors, cb and 102" steel whip antenna, offroad lights mounted to windshield brackets, just not connected. Vacuum operated 4wd still works. Runs good, but has rear main seal leak, so clutch will slip occasionally under full throttle. Also body is rusting at rear of bed pan, rear body sill and a little under passenger door sill. Has full roll cage. Was my daily driver for about 3 months to Glendale from Palmdale. Drove it to Bishop and back same day, no problems, in the summer. Don't want to sell, but we had a baby ten days ago and this is an extra toy that is not as family friendly.

Let me start this by saying I'm not new to Land Cruisers but am always learning more about them. I've owned around 15 since 1998. I've purchased several online without seeing them prior but most of these were under $7k in price.

For sale is my father's 1983 FJ40. He lost his battle with cancer last August so now I'm selling one of his FJ40's. This cruiser has been garaged since purchase. As it sits right now, it is drivable, but all the fluids should be changed.
136K original miles.
Has factory air conditioning and power steering.
All emissions components are installed.

My FJ40 is for sale. It just sits in the garage and never gets driven unless the weather is perfect. It needs to be with someone who will use it.
I rebuilt this thing to keep forever, not to sell, and I'm selling at a loss and have the receipts to prove it. And almost none of the receipts include labor since I did 95% of the work myself.
This is not a perfect, show type vehicle. There are some flaws in the paint. It looks great from 3 feet+ and runs great. There are a few small things that I'll be working on over the next few weeks. Example: I need to install the wipers--I haven't had a need for wipers, so I never installed them after painting. Same with the heater.

Found the cruiser in an airplane hangar and had been sitting for maybe 5 years. The front floorboard was rusted out from water collecting with no top previous to being inside the hangar. NO OTHER RUST on it, just in the front corner of both floorboards. The rear sill and quarters were in great shape no rust through. I welded in a new front floorpan with the original bolt grommets and everything bolted right back in.
I used POR 15 on the chassis and had parts powder coated that were able to be taken...
