Greetings,

I have a stock 76 fj40 with the 2F with about 88k on the odometer. No idea idea if those are original miles but it runs strong (minus the ford 2 barrel on it) burns no oil and doesn’t smoke. My only modification is a Mishi Moto radiator and a new water pump. I am going to install a Howell EFI kit (anlready have it) and wanted to know what a decent exhaust header to use as a replacement for my deleted/leaky manifold. I searched on the forum and got literally hundreds of pages which is makes my simple question complicated. I don’t plan on too much building out the engine other than possibly a cam and perhaps an intake manifold if it would benefit the motor with better more efficient power. If so, what intake would be a good choice. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think there are many in production. JTO, Manafre, SOR maybe?, and Trimeki.

On my ‘67 with a 2F and aluminum radiator, I think I have some early version of what the JTO headers are, but they say Tri-Mil on them. No complaints at all.

On my ‘78, I’ve got the stock 2F intake manifold with the Trimeki headers (full exhaust, actually), and a sniper conversion. Stock radiator.

If I were to do this again, I’d do the Trimeki headers and ceramic coat them.

If you’re in the southern part of the Central Valley I’ve got a Man a Fre header with O2 bung and the rest of the exhaust system for cheap. I was running the Howell FI before I seized my F.5.

I am at the north end of the valley and an hour east. But, would be worth a road trip for the right price. Also, are the headers a direct fit to the 2F. Pictures?

A case of Fall River Mills IPA I think the header was universal to the F, F.5 and 2F I had it on an F and F.5

I am in Sutter Creek. Looks good for my project. I already did the exhaust from the flange back 2 1/4” but if it comes with it. How much are you looking to get for it.

I just want a case of a local IPA for it. I thought you were closer to Redding. I’m not very good at selling stuff (obviously) so let’s just trade some beer.

Works for me. When ever you want to pick them up is good with me; they aren’t going anywhere.

Just PM me and we can figure it out. My only commitment right now is the last 2 weeks in August.

Benson tuning has a very reasonably priced stainless steel header. It fits my 76 2F engine perfectly.
They have an eBay store as well. Based in California, good people to deal with.

I found it on their eBay page. These welds look worse than the one on my fj40 currently. Might have to fork out the money for a TriMeki.

In the long run, you'll probably be glad you did. I am fortunate enough to have one of the original Downey/Mark A. headers. It's gotta be 25 years old. It was the expensive header back then. Not as pretty as it used to be but it still works fine. If it ever fails I'll get the Tri-Meki, until then I run it.

Yeah mine just so pitted and when I'm in the cab I can smell the fumes coming from the front. I think its worth spending the money at this point, I'm too far gone and I should just keep going. I asked for a discount code *fingers crossed*.
