(AL) 1976 FJ40
I’m offering up my 1976 FJ40. It is a good running and dependable rig. I hate to see it go but I’ve recently purchased an FJ45 and I can’t afford to build them both. Most of my efforts have been put into building the drive train. The plan was to save the body work for last, so it does not look as good as it runs. With the 5 speed and stock 2F it runs down the highway at 70 turning 2700 RPM’s. I have installed J**P seats, they ride good but I have purchased stock seats that need to be rebuilt. It also has a pair of stock jump seats that need to be rebuilt. (When I list something as new that means I bought it new but it could be as old as 2-3 years, except for the tires) I have many more pictures that I will be happy to send via...

I have owned this old girl for over 25 years, and have touched every nut & bolt on her, but have never removed the tub from the frame, but i am sad to say i have not wheeled her in about 4 years, and i would rather somebody else enjoy her rather than seeing her just sitting and rotting away..... In the last 3 to 4 years i have turned a new lief and have gotten away form the crawling scene and have moved to classic car's...

I am looking to buy a 79-83 Fj40. I don't want a crawler but it does not have to be all original either. It must have the 2f engine and be overall mechanically sound. The body needs to be overall solid, but I don't mind doing some minor work or a drivers floor pan or so-just no major projects. Basically I am justing looking for a good solid driver that I can work on as time goes. I live in Iowa and am willing to travel if needed. Thanks for your time and call me. 319-721-7855 or email at tmysak@gmail.com
Here's a link to the for-sale thread...as I posted it in the Parts section. It more or less is a vehicle - just in project form :) Hope this sparks some interest - it really is deserving a new home with a Cruiserhead who can build it up! https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/aqualu-18-stretched-fj40-body-build-project.664366/#post-9217048 Trades considered, just can't take on a project this time of my life. So, if you have a rig that is running, in good condition, tastefully modified - I'll give it some thought. Also trade for a Polaris side by side 4-seater (wishful) or a off-road trailer that is well equippped. Thanks, Jeff
'76 FJ40 project - Oregon
An old friend sent me an email in regards to his old FJ40 project he needs to unload: "This is all the information that he gave me to pass along. I do know that the 40 is still in Newberg but he is up in the Tri Cities area and he said that it needs to be done this weekend as well. Hey you know anyone who wants to buy a 76 FJ40 project, I will make a hell of a deal on it...even have a trailer I will sell to tow it home with comes with 4 sticks of tube, twin toy cases setup, Vortech V6 needs installed, 39.5 radial IROKS on 8 lug rims, will toss in an engine hoist and engine stand as well and an SM420 and various adapters as well as already welded links for rear 4 link" He will take $2,500 for the 40 as is and $600 for the trailer...
I've posted before, but I've put a lot of elbow grease into it these last few weeks and she's ready to go so I figured I'd post again. Quickest way to go is to check out my posting on Craigslist: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/4465629623.html. The truck isn't perfect but it is cleaner than most and I'd hop in it tomorrow and drive anywhere (I've done several trips back and forth to Seattle in it cruising at 60 mph enjoying the drive :steer:. In the Los Angeles area, currently won't pass CA smog (not why I'm selling). Check it out! I'm happy to answer questions or take you for a test drive.
Heys guys! Great community. Need your help in determining if this is a good deal and if the restoration is done appropriately. Questions: 1) The fuel injection system seems like something I havent seen with these. 2) Where is the oil cooler. There doesn't seem to be a hose of the 2F motor to it 3) Hinges and nuts are all painted.... is that a problem? Also wanted to know what you guys think in general and what a good price would be. Thanks

http://www.ebay.com/itm/201090909420?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Auction ended, i put in a stink bid and it was accepted. Doesn't appear to have the 79 grille, overall seems too good to be true but I thought I would try. I have been on the lookout for a 79+, decided i was willing to risk some negative ebay feedback to see if this was for real. I'll order an inspection before sending over any kind of payment, my expectation is I'll never get any communication from them though as the seller only accepts wire, cashiers check or cash. Anybody ever seen this vehicle? If anybody in the Miami area is willing to go check it out let me know. Working on getting the seller's contact info/address, etc. Almost tempted...
All original paint, interior is nice and has all owners manuals. Has some rust, driver floor board will need patch. Frame is solid. Starts and drives but has a clutch issue. It will move if you ease the clutch and give some gas, but dies if you let it go normally. Haven't messed with it, so not sure what it is. Has a Wisconsin title. Located in Wheeling, Illinois. Asking $8000. Have it listed on ebay so you can see some pictures.

Built '73 FJ40 - Colorado
Howdy folks! Final price drop: $10,500 firm. After much soul-searching and discussion with the financial manager, it doesn't come as much surprise that I really miss racing, and the way for me to get back into it is to sell my 1973 FJ40 to fund a car purchase. I really wish I could do both, but this is going to end up just sitting and not getting any love, and that's just not fair. So, I've decided to sell. I've owned it for just over 2 years, and have been daily driving it for the full time. I'm asking $10,500, firm. Anything less and I'll keep it, park it on the side of the house and drive it occassionally. Please give me a call at 720.270.2147 or drop me an email at ianacole@hotmail.com with any questions. 1978 FJ40 SoCal Los Angeles
Here we go again, not mine as before. This is the second FJ40 my barber has and is looking to sell. 68k miles, seems to be an AZ and CA truck. Rig is pretty complete, and seems to run well. Again I've known him for 15 years and he's always had love for these trucks. Here are some photos of it. Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to him too much about it since his barber shop was full of clients and I didn't want to keep him. Important contact info is in the photos. He's looking for 12k OBO for it. Again it is OBO, worst he can say is no. And he's genuinely a nice guy so don't be afraid to call him. His name is Jorge EDIT: Forgot to mention it has the ambulance style doors in the back.. Don't know how I forgot to take a photo of the back...
