Did you guys see this? $600.00 for a burnt fj40. Might seem like a joke, however I have bought 2 burnt fj40's in the past and it worked out pretty good both times. If I was closer I would consider this pending visual inspection. The tub actually looks really straight. From experience the front cowl panel and dash might have a little warp from the heat. After blasting the tub it will probably look pretty good. Might be worth checking out if you are close.

I just test drove this rig in Houston and wanted to share my first-hand experience. I am going through this ad line-by-line because there are MANY inconsistencies... I wouldn't put a lot of energy into this one.

I'm looking to trade one of my Westfalia's to get back into the 40 scene. I'm offering something you all can appreciate because most TLC and VW people ARE the same people. I'm not looking to get over on anybody and of course not looking to get the wrong end of the stick with this trade. Ok so i live in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia and as you may know we have to smog anything that is 76 or newer. well i picked up this awesome 78 and after much back and forth i have decided not to try to build it and fight smog. so I'm thinking that a trade might be my best bet. so here it is.
A very clean 78 roller. Tub is unbelievably clean. there is only one cancer spot about the size of a quarter on the rear right sill. everything else is surface rust. rear fenders are bent out where the PO buried the tires somehow and flared them out. totally fixable. The engine compartment is totally empty except for the bare block which is most likely toast. no dash knobs or gauge cluster. Has the front bib but the bib hinge is...

For sale is a very very good front axles set off of a 1982 FJ40. Axles and splines are perfectly straight and birfield joints are perfect as well. Clear Pa title in hand, truck and parts located in the Tamaqua PA area. The project was started by John Merkey a well renowned land cruiser mechanic here in PA. It never got completed and the owner passed away. A friend of mine bought it from the widow and in a roundabout way I ended up with it. It's a 75 according to the title VIN is FJ40200662.

I'm new to the group and live in Norcal. I had a 1977 Fj40 as my first rig almost 30 years ago. It had a Chevy 350 in it and I added a bunch of other things to it as I earned cash. I sold it when I joined the Marines and regret the sale to this day. Now I have 3 boys getting close to driving and I want them to learn how to work on trucks, etc. Looking for another 350 equipped (will take original engine) FJ40 that needs some work. Hoping to stay in the $8-10k range. Thanks in advance.
1973 FJ40 body with title for sale. Does not include frame or drivetrain. I purchased this Cruiser as an unfinished project, but I've realized I don't have time for it and my '78 FJ40 project both.
The '73 body is rust free. It has had a couple of interior patch panels cleanly installed. This body would be great for someone with a complete, running, rusty FJ40 that needs restoration. There are some parts missing such as seats, instrument cluster, glove box door, dash pad, etc. They were missing when I got it. However, there are many parts that are with it - heater, seat brackets, steering column with wheel, gas tank, dash switches, etc.
