Looking for an HZJ78 (1999+ until the build date is 25 years from now-ish).
Ideally already expedition-built, as I have plans to skedaddle before a window of opportunity ends, and don’t have time or space for a full bottom up build (though I’ve been eyeing the 1990 HZJ75 skeleton in the classifieds).
I screwed up royally when I very reluctantly passed on the 1987 HZ(D)J75 Carl Montoya (Nitro Gear) “Cobby Bob” Troopy a couple year ago. I still cringe at myself.
Anyway — yeah. Willing to travel great distances to check it out, for those who have one they’re interested in setting free.

Its been a great rig for me, never let me down (in the last 6 months driven from seattle to bisbee AZ and back with no issues except a blown out tire.) Recently its just been sitting and I hate to see it not being used.
I bought and imported it from France in 2021 (have all sale and import paperwork).
As any 36 year old vehicle thats been used regularly, it has some flaws but nothing excessive. The frame was coated before I bought it and the underside of the body looks very sold! Included with sale will be a crate of extra/ new parts as well as a brand new safari snorkel (in box, not installed) seats...

I’ve casually been on the hunt for a white crew cab 4x4 Hiace with a 1KZ. Looked over a few and had a few leads from customers, but nothing has worked out.

A customer of ours had us build/upgrade/restore this 1999 FZJ75 over the last year... and is now moving overseas. I told him I could help him list it as I probably know more about the truck than he.
Everything we installed is brand new. Customer has $50-60k in receipts through us for all the parts and work done.
I have worked on probably 50+ troopies and this is by far one of the nicest I have seen. Probably the nicest LHD unit I've seen for sure.
