Retired and living in Costa Rica. Ran into this rig that just might spark some interest up there. 1973 Tow Truck, new tires, recent paint (gorgeous), 6 cyl gasoline (original). This little showpiece is a working truck, but the owner has it in just about showroom condition, both mechanically and cosmetically! It'll tow a Buick up a tree or just look great in a parade. $20,000 USD FOB Costa Rica. I have shipped to Miami before, cost to ship is $1200, you'll need your own customs broker there (I have the contact for you). Put 20k in a suitcase and come on down! I'll pick you up at the airport and set you up. Can also of course wire transfer after inspection. Inquire via email - Bill at Cocobills@yahoo.com...
Hi guys, I posted a wanted ad in the FJ40/BJ40 series classified but I thought I would post here too. I'm looking to purchase a FJ40 or BJ42 Land Cruiser. For the FJ40, I'm mainly interested in the '78+ model year. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I don't however have my passport to look at ones south of the border; so hoping to find something local. I'm looking to spend around $13,000; possibly a bit more for the right one. If you have one please message me; will be great to talk about the details of your Land Cruiser. Cheers! -Tanner
Hey everyone, been a while since i've been on mud. Anyways, selling my 1982 BJ42 Landcruiser. It is dark blue, stock 3B and 4 speed transmission. I have a functioning safari snorkel on it. 31" BFG mud terrains, pretty heavy duty winch bumper set up for a warn 8274. I also have a bikini top for it. There is a custom sound bar built on to the roll bar aswell and some after market speakers in the doors. It has a JVC deck with usb and aux. ports. The previous owner had changed the dash cluster at some point, and the cluster he put in only goes up to 99,xxx kms, so I am not sure the exact mileage. But anyone who is interested is more than welcome to come drive it or do a compression test. This truck is my daily driver and runs great...
BJ42's Combo for sale!
Well I need to get things moving so I have decided to sell my cruisers :crybaby: Here is what I have: Green 1984 cdn spec BJ42 diesel: I'm the second owner of this truck bought this truck for parts a year ago from a fellow that had originally purchase it here in town at the Toyota Dealership in 1984. The body is rusted in the usual place but is still in overall good shape. 240 000km motor runs great and doesn't smoke. the frame is solid with the exception of a small rust spot in the back near the shackle hanger . At first I was thinking of parting it out but this truck is so original and as lots of potential to make a great restoration/collection cruiser. It is still on the road and I often ride it to work. Here what it comes...
1983 bj42 lhd
Sold Pending Funds! I have for sale a 83 LHD BJ42 with 175K kms and factory 5 speed and PS with a 2.5" Hell Creek lift kit. I purchase this truck about 9+ years ago and had new quarter panels, hd wheel wells and front fenders installed and then painted back to the factory Nordic Blue color. I dont' think this truck ever saw much if any salt as it came from a hunting camp in the Yukon and had some nasty mud caked in the front fenders and quarter panels which caused the rust but the frame, body mounts and floor boards ect were/are rust free. The only rust to show it's self since the metal resto is under the driver side door otherwise the truck is rust free. When I got this truck the compression was low so I purchased a 3B here on the...
All, No affiliation from/with me and apologies if this has already been posted. But this (eBay link below) looks to be an expensive resto-mod and I haven't seen it on the forums. Anyone know from where/whence this came? Looks pretty bad ass. (Not necessarily $95k bad ass but still...) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-FJ-Cruiser-2-Door-Removable-Top-1965-toyota-fj-45-custom-cruiser-/181248223568?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2a333c6950&item=181248223568&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
I have wanted a BJ42 for quite a while and am ready to take the plunge. I don't have the time for a restore or the budget for an insanely hooked up rebuild. Looking for daily driver in good mechanical condition. Prefer LHD and 1980s. I am located in Pennsylvania. Let me know if you have something you are considering selling. I would be willing to spend in the teens for the right truck. Thanks Brian
1981 diesel LHD Troopy
So I wanted to get your guys opinion on the Troopy we are fixing up. We originally had it on Ebay, but sale didn't work out, so we decided to keep it and get it back to original as possible. This was neon green before we had it painted. One of the back doors was originally welded shut, so we had that repaired. We are going to add the 4 jump seats in back, and yes, there were originally 4 instead of 2 like the Australian Troopys. Also, we are reupholstering the ceiling and front seats in black vinyl. We are also thinking about adding A/C. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Once it's finished we will be shipping it to Orlando because it's still in Costa Rica with us, and then putting it up for sale on Ebay. I also wanted to...
Looking for a diesel 40 series. I love and am open to anything in the 40 series - can be RHD or LHD. Not looking for a showpiece but something nice that isn't a rust buck and won't be a project to get it going. I would prefer having the option of a hard top vs. only having a soft top/doors. I'm located near Atlanta, GA but willing to look outside my area. Thanks!

Looking for a 45LV and to be honest, I'll be needing only the frame and VIN plate as i'll be building the rest and want to register it for the street (I believe that's all you need. Please tell me if I'm wrong. I live in UT by the way). My plans are to use an Aqualu aluminum body and an LS engine from a late model GM truck. I guess I could use the 6 speed tranny and T case as well. What do all of you fine gents (or gentettes) think? My apologies for not being a purist. Let the thrashing commence! Craig
White 1981 Troop Carrier imported from Saudi Arabia (clean title) and 163,000 original kilometers. It has a Man-A-Fre 4+ rear bumper, a brand new H55F 5-Speed tranny, a brand new clutch and a rebuilt transfer case. All work was done by Safari LTD in Grand Junction, CO. We bought it from a guy in Grand Junction who was moving to Australia. We have the original back benches, but opted to put in new 5 point harness PRP seats for a comfortable road trip with our two children. We also have brand new tires on it, a pop-up tent and E-z awning, (new windows that haven't been installed yet)as well as brand new seals (all ordered from Safari LTD). I took it apart and went through and cleaned everything (full of sand from the desert) and I've put...
Hello Mudders, Anyone wanting to sell an '83/84 BJ42? I am trying to find one that is in good condition. I am pretty sure that I don't want a decomposing pile of backyard parts which is slowly being reclaimed by nature; nor can I afford a $20,000 'restoration' Wiliing to pay mid-teens for the right truck. I am in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I would greatly appreciate any help with tracking one down. All the Best! PM me.
No affiliation, just interested in the forum's assessment. I currently own an '84 RHD Troopy in excellent condition but part of my Troopy sickness makes me think that if one Troopy is good, Two troopies would be twice (or more?) as good?! I love the idea of a diesel LHD but really, really dislike the idea of purchasing a sight unseen troopy from Costa Rica. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ45-Rare-Diesel-1981-LHD-Toopy-Troop-Carrier-FJ45-HJ45-/181208928327?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2a30e4d047&vxp=mtr#ht_680wt_1122
